The Junior High District tournament was postponed last night due to strong storms in Corning and their loss of power. Power has been restored and the plan to get the tournament back on schedule is as follows:
1pm--Manila v. Harrisburg Girls
2:15pm--Gosnell v. Piggott Girls
3:30pm--Gosnell v. Osceola Boys
4:45pm--Rivercrest v. Manila Boys
6:00pm--Rivercrest v. Corning Senior Girls
7:15pm--Rivercrest v. Corning Senior Boys
8:30pm--Winner of the Gosnell/Piggott game v. Corning Junior Girls
This will catch the tournament back up and finals will be held Saturday starting with the Championship girls game at 11am.
Due to several side streets and county roads still being ice covered and will re-freeze over night, the Piggott School District will be closed Friday, February 3, 2023. This will be AMI Day #6. Students will be responsible for completion of AMI Packet #6 and Google Classroom Work Day #6. Please reach out to your students teacher if you have questions regarding assignments. Due to the lack of melting on the side streets, county roads, parking lots, etc. The Piggott School District will be closed for onsite instruction for Thursday, February 2, 2023. This will be AMI Day #5. Students should continue to work through their AMI packets and Google Classroom for Instruction. If you have any questions regarding instruction please email your teacher(s).
As of right now, here are the following make up dates for Basketball Games:
SR Girls @ Rivercrest--Saturday, February 4 at 7pm--1 Game
SR Boys v. Rivercrest at home--Tuesday, February 7 at 6pm--1 Game.
There will be meeting tomorrow concerning the Junior High District Tournament at Corning at 1pm. We will put out any information about any changes to the tournament out when they are finalized.

Due to the second round over inclement weather and roadways not clearing throughout the day today, the Piggott School District will be closed to onsite instruction for Wednesday, February 1, 2023. This will be AMI Day #4. Students will complete AMI packet day #4 and Google Classroom Work #4. If you have any questions please email your students' teacher. We will continue to monitor road conditions and weather reports to make our decision about Thursday sometime tomorrow.

Due to inclement weather and deteriorating road conditions the Piggott School District will be closed for onsite instruction Tuesday, January 31, 2023. This will be AMI Day #3. Students should complete AMI Packet #3 or Google Classroom Assignments #3 for their instruction. Teachers will be available via email for assistance on the assignments. We will continue to monitor weather systems for possible closures throughout the week. We are attempting to notify K8 but their system is currently down. The Boys games tonight v. Holcomb have been canceled. Make up date will be announced later.
Due to the threat of inclement weather with icy roads the girls basketball games with Rivercrest will be postponed until Saturday night at 7pm with Senior High Game Only. The junior high district tournament will begin on Saturday at Corning. Times will be announced later this week.

The Piggott School District will continue to monitor the weather forecast to make any decisions on postponing ballgames or school closures. We will communicate any changes to ballgames and school closures through the Thrillshare App, School Website, and K8 news. The safety of our students and staff are of the utmost importance.

Reminder - Friday, January 27, is the last day to order a 2022-2023 yearbook with personalization. Order forms are being sent home. Orders can be turned back into the school or by ordering at jostensyearbooks.com
In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, there will be NO SCHOOL Monday, January 16.

The regular scheduled board meeting for January has been rescheduled. This meeting will now take place on Tuesday, January 17 at 5:30 in the District Administration Building.
Due to the heavy rains and flooding in our area, the Piggott School District will use AMI day #1 to monitor road/street conditions caused by the flooding. This will also allow families that may have been displaced by the flooding an opportunity to make any necessary arrangements with their homes. Our thoughts and prayers are with our Mohawk family!
