Mohawk Nation: Hopefully the winter weather is over! The Piggott School District will be back in session tomorrow, Monday, February 24, 2025. Bus routes will run at normal times. If bus drivers are unsure about some of the backroads the entire routes may not be run, but we will do our best to complete entire routes! Mohawk Nation: Piggott School District will be closed on Friday, February 21, 2025. This missed day will be made up on Thursday, May 22, 2025. The original post was that the District would be closed on Friday, February 22, 2025. I apologize for any confusion!
Mohawk Nation: A BIG SHOUT OUT to Steve and Dave Lyman, the City of Piggott, and the Mohawk Maintenance crew for bearing the cold and clearing sidewalks and parking lots this morning. We will see if the sun will melt away the remaining snow/ice and check routes this afternoon to see if we will be able to have school tomorrow. We will notify by 5pm this afternoon. Again, THANK YOU to all that came out and helped with the snow removal!

Mohawk Nation: After driving bus routes this afternoon, we still have several streets/roads that have substantial amounts of packed snow. With the temperatures being around 11 degrees and the refreezing of these roads and streets, the Piggott School District will be closed on Friday, February 21, 2025. This missed day will be made up on Thursday, May 22, 2025. We should be back in school on Monday, February 24, 2025. Enjoy the weekend and come out tomorrow night at Rector to cheer on the Lady Mohawks as they play BIC and a spot in the 2A East Regional Tournament. Go Mohawks!

Mohawk Nation: The 2A-3 tournament will be postponed until Friday, February 21, The Lady Mohawks will play V. BIC at 7pm for a chance to advance to the semifinals and a birth in the regional tournament. The semi finals will be played Saturday and the finals on Monday! Come out and support the Lady Mohawks! Mohawk Nation: With K8 Weather predicting 7+ inches of snow for our area throughout the night and with temperatures in the single digits the Piggott School District will be closed Wednesday, February 19, 2025. We will continue to monitor road conditions and snowfall amounts to determine any future closings. As of now, the school district has two days to make up due to school closures for sickness and snow. These two days will be made up on Monday, May 19th and Tuesday, May 20th, 2025. Please stay safe and warm through this winter storm. Go Mohawks!

Mohawk Nation: After seeing the latest forecast, the Piggott School District will dismiss school Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 1pm. We wanted to make a decision tonight in order for parents to make arrangements for childcare. Buses will load at the ES at 1pm and then proceed to HS. Car riders at the ES can begin picking up at 1pm also.
The School Board meeting that was scheduled for Tuesday, February 18 will be postponed until Monday, February 24, 2025 at 5:30pm.

Mohawk Nation: The weather forecast for our area starting Tuesday between noon and 3pm is calling for the accumulation of 5-8+ inches of snow. We will continue to monitor the weather forecast the next few days but it may result in the district needing to have an early release from school on Tuesday, February 18 in order for students and staff to get home safely. We will make that decision as early as possible in order for you to make proper plans for your children. With the snow accumulation predicted and the cold temperatures it could affect the remainder of the week as to whether we can have school. We will keep you updated as new information is obtained. Mohawk Nation: There have been changes to the tournament schedule for the 2A-3 District Tournament in Rector due to possible inclement weather next week. Monday games have been moved to Saturday, February 15, 2025. The Piggott Mohawks will play Cross County at 2:30pm tomorrow. The games scheduled for Tuesday have been moved to Monday, February 17, 2025. The Lady Mohawks will now play Monday, February 17 v. Bay Lady Yellowjackets at 4pm. Come out and support our Mohawks!
