The Lady Mohawks and Mohawk Basketball games vs. Osceola at home tonight will start at 6:00 p.m. with Sr Girls followed by Sr. Boys. We will have a special presentation between games to honor Hunter Midkiff.

This afternoon buses will follow designated snow routes due to the amount of ice still on our county and gravel roads throughout the district. Please make sure someone is available to pick your student up off the bus at those designated stops. We appreciate everyone working with us and making this first day back successful. Snow routes will be followed until futher notice.

Good Morning! Just want to make sure everyone takes their time traveling into school this morning and to remind you that there are some slick spots in the parking lots and on some sidewalks, so use caution, stay focused.

Finally, the Lady Mohawks and Mohawk basetball teams will play at home tonight starting at 5pm. It's a great day to be a Mohawk!

The Piggott School District WILL BE in session on Monday, February 7, 2022 using BUS SNOW ROUTES. Please see the following link for snow routes in your area. We ask that parents and students that live in the outer areas and on less traveled country roads to use their best judgment whether to attempt to come in. If you feel like you cannot make it, please contact your campus office to let them know. Also, use caution in some areas of the parking lots and sidewalks because they will refreeze tonight and could have some icing in the morning. Again, be safe traveling in and use good judgement. We will see you tomorrow. Snow Route link: https://5il.co/158e7. #MohawkNation

The Mohawk Basketball games that were scheduled for Osceola for tonight have been postponed until Monday, February 7, 2022 at home starting at 5pm. There will only be the senior varsity game.
Other basketball news: In order to complete the remaining games on the senior high schedule due to weather and Covid related issues, the remainder of the junior high season will be canceled. The conference decided to shorten the junior high district tournament by taking the top four teams in the boys and girls division based on the first round robin games(8 games). The games will be played at Osceola on Thursday, February 10 starting at 4pm with the finals for Saturday, February 12 starting at 11am. Brackets will be published as soon as they are finalized.

The Piggott School District will be closed for on-site instruction for Friday, February 4, 2022. Students will continue with AMI packet #8 and Google Classroom for instruction. We plan to resume classes on Monday, February 7, 2022. Stay warm, stay safe! #MohawkNation.

The Lady Mohawks Basketball games that were scheduled at Osceola for tonight have been postponed. We will notify you as soon as we confirm a make-up date.

Due to the potential hazards that this winter weather event poses for Thursday, Feb. 3rd, 2022, there will be NO ON SITE instruction at the Piggott Public Schools. Students should work on their AMI packet #7 or in their Goggle Classroom for instruction for tomorrow, Feb. 3rd. We will monitor road and weather conditions before any decisions are made for Friday, Feb. 4th. Stay safe, stay warm! #MohawkNation

There will be two opportunities for the community to hear about the four school calendar options for the 2022-2023 school year. The Arkansas Department of Education is giving schools the opportunity to choose from one of four calendars to operate their district under. We would like to present those four options to you and get your feedback to help us make a decision that would best benefit our students and community. The two dates are:
Tuesday, February 1, 2022--6:30pm in the HS Cafeteria
Monday, February 7, 2022--6:30pm in the ES Cafeteria

The Piggott School District WILL BE OPEN for on-site instruction on Friday, January 21, 2022. Buses will run at normal times.

While city streets are in pretty good shape, Hwy 62 from Pollard to St. Francis has several areas of black ice that would be unsafe for our students, staff, parents, and buses to travel during the morning commute. Along with the 200+ staff and students that have been out sick, the Piggott School District WILL BE CLOSED for on-site instructions today. We will use AMI day #6. We will monitor road conditions and make decisions for other school events and about school for Friday later today.

Road conditions are spotty around the Piggott area. Hwy 62 from Piggott to St. Francis has the most accumulation and is mostly sleet. No decision about school closure will be made until about 5:45am in the morning.
