Mohawk Nation: The Piggott School District received information of a rumor of a potential threat of violence at the Piggott High School late last night. School Resource officers and local authorities were contacted and as a result of investigation it has been determined that there was no threat made. The protection of Mohawk Students and Staff are top priority of our school district.
Grandparent's Day for kindergarten and 5th grade will be Tuesday, September 17 at 1:30.
Just a reminder to bring your breakfast items and have them in the Parent Center before 7:30.
Due to some recent threats to schools in our area, some of our sixth grade students have voiced some concerns and fears. To address this concerns, we have asked Aaron Midkiff, our schools SRO, and Sam Poole, Piggott Police Chief, to meet with each sixth grade class one day this week. This time will be used to answer any questions the students might have period. If you do not want your child to participate, please contact your child's teacher.
Grandparent's Day for 1st grade will be Monday, September 16. at 1:30. Please do not forget this grade has a peanut/tree nut allergy.
Mohawk Nation: The Mohawk Golf Match scheduled for today has been rained out.
Make up pictures will be on Thursday, September 19. The retake will cost $5.00 and you will have to bring your child's whole proof back that day to have their pictures taken.
Mohawk Nation: In April of 2023, the Arkansas Legislators passed Senate Bill 421 requiring individuals that coach youth age sports of students ages 14 and under to complete specific athletic course training. If you are coaching a youth sport team that practices and plays at any of the Piggott School District facilities and need the training please reach out to Freddie Bowen to get information on how to complete the training. Attention Parents K-3: The Piggott School District in conjunction with the Arkansas Department of Education will be conducting a K-3 screener in the upcoming weeks. The purpose of the screener is to help us identify areas in literacy and math that a student may need additional support. More information about the screener can be found from the link below. We are extending the deadline for PES volleyball sign up. The last day now will be Monday, August 26, by the end of the day. If you are needing a form we have some extra ones in the elem office.
PES school pictures will be taken Tuesday, August 27. Every student will have their pictures taken. Proofs will be sent home at a later date and order will be taken then.
Parents please drop your elementary students off in one of the 3 car rider lines. Walking your kids over from Preschool to the car rider line is a safety issue. Thank you!
