Mohawk Nation: Below are a couple of updates to the Mohawk Basketball Schedule for the week of January 20:
Boys Make Up Game with Bay will be Wednesday, January 22, 2024 starting at 5pm with 7th, Jr. and Sr Boys games.
Thursday, January 23, 2024 will be a four game night at Lepanto v. EPC with Jr Girls, Sr Girls, Jr. Boys, Sr Boys playing in that order starting at 4pm.

Just a reminder that cook cookbook orders are due January 14.
Mohawk Nation: The weather forecast is not calling for snow to move into our area until after midnight with accumulation of 4-7 inches of snow. For the safety of our students and staff and to give parents time to arrange childcare if needed, the Piggott School District plans to close school for Friday, January 10, 2025. Mohawk Nation: The regular scheduled school board meeting will be moved from Tuesday, January 14 to Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 5:30pm. Go Mohawks!
Due to travel concerns tonight's ballgames will be reduced to girls games only starting at 3:30pm. Go Mohawks beat Bay!
Mohawk Nation: The Piggott School District will be monitoring weather and road conditions as this weather system moves through the state. Our goal is to make a decision about school closure for Friday, January 10, 2025 by 10:30pm. Stay Tuned! Go Mohawks!
Mohawk Nation: Due to inclement weather moving in later tonight the basketball games tonight will start at 3:30pm and it will be a four game night with both junior high teams and senior high teams v. Bay. Come out and support our Mohawks! Go Mohawks!
Due to a chance of inclement weather, we are extending the cookbook order deadline to Tuesday, January 14th. Cookbooks are $17.00 until then. Not many extras will be ordered so please get your orders in now. Send money with your order form and make checks out to PES. Thank you for helping us with our fundraiser.
Tutoring will begin next week on January 14.
The Piggott School District plans to begin the second semester of the 2024-25 school year tomorrow, Monday January 6, 2025. We will monitor weather over night and make any decisions about closures or delays by 6am. Any closures or delays will be announced through this messaging system and K8 news. Go Mohawks!
Mohawk Nation: Forecast show possibility of extremely cold temperatures and possible wintry weather over the next few weeks. The Piggott School District will monitor weather and road conditions daily and will alert K8 and use the Apptegy Thrillshare App to post any closures or delays. We will do our best to make any decisions by 10pm the night before to allow parents to make arrangements for childcare if possible and no later than 6am the day of a closure. The safety of our students and staff are paramount in making any decisions to close or delay the school day. We appreciate your cooperation in the decisions made through our winter months. Reminder: Supper with Santa is Saturday, December 14, at the PES gym. The time is 5-7 pm. This is hosted by Piggott Band Boosters.
Mohawk Nation: The Piggott School District was notified, after hours, on December 11, 2024 of a safety recall from the Sysco Corporation that supplies our cafeteria food supply of a possible egg allergen in Lot Number PF100424 of Bakers Source Classic Cornbread Mix. Students/staff that have egg allergies could have been affected. The meals were served on November 11, 2024 and December 5, 2024. There should be no harm unless a staff member or student has an allergen to eggs. If you have any type of allergens please contact Hope Burns our food service director or the school nurse at the appropriate school to ensure we have safeguards in place for future meal plans. The safety of our students, staff, and community are top priority at the Piggott School District. Go Mohawks!
There will be no tutoring the rest of this year. Tutoring will start again in January.
