Piggott School District

We are still selling yearbooks at PES and PHS, and our personalization deadline is coming up this week. You have until this Friday to order a yearbook with your name on it. We have to turn in personalization soon! Basic yearbooks are $40 at PES and $50 at PHS with additional charges for personalization and special icons. The high school yearbook will soon increase to $55.

Tomorrow, January 24, is the last day to turn in your senior profile. Profiles can be turned in to Mrs. Natalie or Mrs. Amber.

Mohawk Nation: After review of the morning weather forecast, the Piggott School District WILL OPEN at regular times and buses will run at regular times and full routes this morning(01/22/24). We will continue to monitor weather forecast and keep you updated of any changes to our daily schedule.

Mohawk Nation: As we prepare for another possible weather event, we will be monitoring the weather forecast and make a final decision on the start of school for Monday, January 22, 2024 by 5am. Mohawk Basketball: The Junior High Boys and Girls games that were scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 20 at Gosnell have been postponed. Make up date to be announced.

Mohawk Basketball: Lady Mohawks Basketball games that were scheduled for Friday, January 19 v. Gosnell have been postponed until Saturday, Jan. 27 at 2pm. 7th, Jr., and Sr. girls will play.

Mohawk Basketball: Below is information regarding make up games missed this week due to weather: Monday, January 22--Jr/Sr Boys at Corning 6pm Tuesday, January 23--Girls at Rivercrest (Teams and Time to Be announced) Still waiting to confirm officials. Tuesday, January 30--Girls v. Corning 7th, Jr, Sr Girls at 5pm. We will keep you posted of any new information as soon as we can. Go Mohawks!

Mohawk National: The Piggott School District will start at regular time on Friday, January 19, 2024. Buses will run using snow routes only.

Mohawk Nation: We have an amazing group of students and staff at the Piggott School District. Parents I want to commend you as well for the smooth as possible return to school today! The students and teachers that were displaced due to the flooding issue have moved into their new temporary homes and are doing great! With temperatures remaining below freezing today, we will run snow routes again this afternoon and Friday. Remember to pick up your students at the snow route stops they were picked up from this morning. Buses will run at normal times this afternoon. Hopefully, we will be back to normal routes on Monday, January 22. More information will be sent out when available. It is a great day to be a Mohawk! Thank you Mohawk Nation!

Mohawk National: Reminder buses are running one hour late this morning and using snow routes only. Due to temperatures and the likely hood snow will not melt, we will drop off at the snow route stops this afternoon.

Mohawk Nation: The Piggott School District WILL BE in school on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Buses will run one hour later than normal and will use snow routes only. Open link below for snow route information. School WILL open at 8:30am. Breakfast will be served on both campuses at 8:30am. Classes at the HS will start around 8:58am with a modified morning schedule. Lunches will be served at regular times. Students and staff need to use caution in parking lots and on sidewalks and doorways because there may be some ice patches. We look forward to seeing our Mohawks back on campus. Mohawk Nation: Due to the continued icy road conditions, the Piggott School District WILL NOT be in session on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. This will be snow make up day #2. We will make this day up on Friday, March 15, 2024.

Mohawk Nation: The Piggott Elementary School had a water leak over the weekend and the Kindergarten and 1st grade hallways were most affected. We have extracted the water and now have a demolition crew on site to finish up drying out the walls and cabinet areas to ensure we do not have mold or mildew growing in those areas. The admin team and staff have developed a plan to move those affected classrooms to other parts of the building and continue to educate your students the best we possibly can during this time. We are going to move as quickly as possible to get those areas sanitized and put back together. The Piggott School District will keep you posted on these developments. Mohawk Nation: The January School Board Meeting scheduled for tonight WILL still be held at 5:30pm. January is School Board Appreciation Month and the Piggott School District is so thankful for the dedication our school board members gives to our district. Mohawk Nation: Due to the winter weather storm, road conditions, and a water leak that has occurred in our Elementary School, the Piggott School District WILL BE closed on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Monday, February 19, 2024 will be used as a make up day for missing school tomorrow. We will communicate further developments through this site and Kait 8 TV also. Go Mohawks!
