Announcements 5-10-22

The Baccalaureate Service for the PHS Class of 2022 will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, at the First General Baptist Church (located on the corner of East Bruce and South Taylor - down the road from the middle and new gyms).

PHS Graduation will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, in the new gym.

The football team will be having their football awards/recognition evening on Wed., May 11.  We will start at 4:30 in the coaches office with a pizza party for players only, then hand out the awards and recognize everyone at 5:00 in the old gym.  We will be done by 5:30.  This is for everyone who played this year in grades 7-12.  Very informal and casual.  Parents are welcome at 5:00 for the awards and recognition. 

Students interested in ASU concurrent classes (Sociology, Psychology, World Lit I/II) - there will be an ASU representative here on May 17 (afternoon) to get you registered.  Let Mrs. Amber know if you are interested.  You will have to have qualifying test scores.

Sports Banquet for Girls Basketball, Softball, Boys Basketball, and Baseball on Thursday, May 19 @ 5:00 in the New Gym

FBLA Members in grades 9-11: The 22-23 Officer Application is available on the FBLA Facebook page. See Mrs. Peters if you would rather have it emailed to you. Applications are due next Wednesday, May 11.

8th grade students will be job shadowing on this Friday, May 13.  They will not come to school this day. Any 8th grader who doesn't job shadow that day will stay in my classroom all day to complete a career research project. 

TO BE RESCHEDULED-The Annual Spring Band Concert on Thursday, May 5th in the Middle Gym on the High School campus.  The concert will start at 6:00pm.  This concert will also serve as our awards ceremony for the year. Performing groups will include the 6th Grade Band (their first concert!), the 7th Grade Band, and the High School Band.     

**Sophomores/Juniors:  If you are interested in taking the following concurrent classes next year, it is time to register.  See Mrs. Amber for paperwork.  You must have ACT or ACT Aspire cut scores to qualify.  They will start accepting applications on April 18  and the deadline is May 27.  These classes come on a first come first serve basis with our school and several other schools.  If you are interested, you need to see Mrs. Amber ASAP.   Comp I/II, Experiencing Art, Public  Speaking, US History I/II, World History I/II, Beginning Spanish I/II, Personal Health & Wellness (new offering)

Teachers:  Students should not be answering the phones in the classrooms

Seniors:  SEMO is enrolling for Fall 2022 semester.  You can call 573-888-0513 to make an appointment with an advisor.

** Textbook Brokers in Conway, AR is sponsoring a Book Scholarship to  students attending UCA, CBC or UACCM in Fall 2022.  They have provided a link for students to fill out their information for a chance to win a Textbook Scholarship for Fall 2022. Each scholarship will cover the full cost of books for the Fall 2022 semester. There will be  2 winners chosen  at UCA and UACCM then one winner for CBC. They will announce the winners on Facebook and Instagram, May 16th 2022. Students can also visit our website www.conwaybooks.com and fill out the scholarship form under our "info" tab. One entry person.
