Announcements 5-3-22

The following Art Club members going on the Bentonville/Branson trip need to meet in the art room on Tuesday, May 3, at 9:15 am:  Jadah Smith, Conner Jordan, Paylee Myhre, Lexi Rigdon, Sierra Minton, Rebecca Woolery, Natalie Small, Callie Henson, Abby Crawford, Skylar Stone, Charlie Turner, Olivia Woolard, Breana Scott, Tucker Dunlap, Jadyn Thompson, Lexey Stone, Hannah McBroom, and Jessica Holt. There will be a parent's meeting on Thursday night at 7:00 in the art room for the parents of these students.

Spanish Club students will be traveling to Jonesboro on May 5th, Thursday. They need to be released from class at 8:20 to go to the new gym parking lot. They understand that they are not exempt from any work that is done during the day. The members who have turned in their permission forms are:  Giana Simington, Hunter Kinnard, Kenyen Littrell, Gracelynn Holmes,  and Gracelyn Roberts 

Senior Trip day will be Wednesday, May 4.  Seniors will be back  in class on Thursday and Friday.

High School Band will have practices with the 8th grade band during 3rd period on Tuesday and Thursday this week.

**Any boy or girl going into 9-12th grade next year that would like to play golf should meet in Coach Rabjohns room at 10:55 on Tuesday, May 3.

***Registration Deadline for June 11 ACT Test that is given here at PHS is Friday, May 6.  Registration is done online at actstudent.org

FBLA Members in grades 9-11: The 22-23 Officer Application is available on the FBLA Facebook page. See Mrs. Peters if you would rather have it emailed to you. Applications are due next Wednesday, May 11.

There will be a meeting 6th hour in Mrs. Flowers's room #225 Monday, May 9 for the following Beta club members:  Aden Baggett, Taylor Blackwell, Dixie Book, Joseph Carpenter, Autumn Covert, Tamia Davis, Anna Haley, Michael Haywood, Grace Hooten, Emma Langley, Alyssa Manor, Emma Morrisett, Mikaylah Putt, Shawn Hudson Seegraves, Lily Wagster, Maddie Wintizer

8th grade students will be job shadowing on next Friday, May 13.  They will not come to school this day. Any 8th grader who doesn't job shadow that day will stay in my classroom all day to complete a career research project. 

The Annual Spring Band Concert on Thursday, May 5th in the Middle Gym on the High School campus.  The concert will start at 6:00pm.  This concert will also serve as our awards ceremony for the year. Performing groups will include the 6th Grade Band (their first concert!), the 7th Grade Band, and the High School Band.     You are  all invited  to come out and support what the bands have been working on for this concert!  Thank you!

**We are collecting "Get Well" notes or notes of encouragement for Caleb Nottingham in the main office if anyone would like to write him one.  Also, a yearbook was purchased for Caleb and students may go by the office to sign it for him.

Seniors who are graduating can  sign Mrs. Crommie's cabinet in her classroom. Any College Algebra books from last semester need to be returned.

Students:  We have seen an increase of students knocking on, banging on, and tugging on the  locked end doors during class time. You should not interrupt classes. If you get locked out, you should go to the front entrance of the building.  If you damage the doors, you will be responsible for paying for the damages.

**Sophomores/Juniors:  If you are interested in taking the following concurrent classes next year, it is time to register.  See Mrs. Amber for paperwork.  You must have ACT or ACT Aspire cut scores to qualify.  They will start accepting applications on April 18  and the deadline is May 27.  These classes come on a first come first serve basis with our school and several other schools.  If you are interested, you need to see Mrs. Amber ASAP.   Comp I/II, Experiencing Art, Public  Speaking, US History I/II, World History I/II, Beginning Spanish I/II, Personal Health & Wellness (new offering)

Teachers:  Students should not be answering the phones in the classrooms

** Textbook Brokers in Conway, AR is sponsoring a Book Scholarship to  students attending UCA, CBC or UACCM in Fall 2022.  They have provided a link for students to fill out their information for a chance to win a Textbook Scholarship for Fall 2022. Each scholarship will cover the full cost of books for the Fall 2022 semester. There will be  2 winners chosen  at UCA and UACCM then one winner for CBC. They will announce the winners on Facebook and Instagram, May 16th 2022. Students can also visit our website www.conwaybooks.com and fill out the scholarship form under our "info" tab. One entry person.
