Congrats to the Sr. High baseball team for defeating Osceola

Parent-Teacher Conference will be Thursday, March 17 from 3:30-7:00. Parents will pick up progress reports/report cards in the High School Cafeteria.  Parents may then come to the main building to talk to teachers, as needed.   We WILL have school on Friday, March 18.   Spring Break will be next week,  March 21-25. 

Please excuse the following students to take part in the Land CDE Practice Contest TODAY, Wednesday: Riley Jo Gossett, Jessie Henson, Laura Jackson and Kaden Wilson. 

Juniors: The yeti raffle will end this Thursday, March 17th. Have all tickets and money turned in to  Coach Brantley by that morning. $5 per ticket or 5 tickets for $25. If you haven't picked up you raffle tickets to sell, come by the middle gym and get yours. All YETI raffle money is due by this Thursday. We will have a live drawing Friday afternoon for the winner.

There will be a Prom Food Committee meeting in Mrs. Andrea's classroom at 11:10 Wednesday 3/16. They will be a few minutes late to 5th period. The following students are on the Prom Food Committee:  Emma Langley, Maddy Wintizer, Anna Haley, Grace Hooten, Tamia Davis , Dixie Book

The Art Club is taking Donations  for  the Ukraine Mission. There is also a list posted around the school of items that can be donated and dropped off at the art room all next week. 

 Please excuse Art Club members Wednesday 1st period and possibly part of 2nd period. Members will be in the art room. A list of members will be sent to teachers.

In honor of Art Youth Month, everyone is asked to participate in the following activities.

  • Wednesday: Teacher look-alike day-Dress as one of the teachers
  • Thursday: High School Stereotype day-Dress up like one of the highschool cliques
  • Friday: Tie Dye day-Wear a tie dye shirt; art club members wear new art club shirts

  Thursday, March 17-Softball will play vs Corning at home beginning at 4:30. Please dismiss at 2:15---Softball on Friday and Saturday, March 18 and 19-Bearcat Blast at Southside-Jonesboro

There will be another opportunity for a virtual ACT Prep class.  It will be this  Friday, March 18 from 9:00 - 3:00.  We will provide a place at school for you to participate in this class.  See Mrs. Amber to register.

Color-Guard Tryouts will be this week, Friday, March 18 for grades 7-11th Grade Students. The final practice is  Tues, March 15.  Practice will start at 3:20 and end at 4:40.  

Announcement- ALL students stay in the cafeteria when they arrive at school each day beginning  Monday, March 7th. No students will be allowed in the main building until the 1st bell rings.

**Centennial Bank to Offer 10 Annual $1,000 Scholarships -Deadline April 1st  Centennial Bank Scholarship Link  -You can Email: nicole@ahsaa.org or mail itThere is no limit on the number of eligible students a school can submit. 

Centennial Bank, the “Titled Named Sponsors” for all regional and state championships, will provide a total of 10 annual $1,000 scholarships to qualifying high school seniors.  Centennial Bank’s scholarships will be provided for athletic achievement and community service. There are two categories for the scholarships, and five boys and girls winners will be selected.  Here are the scholastic requirements for the Centennial Bank scholarship:  1. Must have a 7-semester minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. 2. Must have scored at least 21 on the ACT or at least 900 on the SAT.  Other requirements are:  1. Must be a senior student-athlete registered with the AAA 2. Must meet NCAA Scholarship rules 3. Must display good citizenship in school and in the community 4. Must display desirable leadership traits 5. Must have participated in other school activities

**Alpha Delta Kappa is an international organization for female educators.  We are an altruistic group.  One of our monetary projects is to give a scholarship of $750 to a high school female who is planning to attend college to receive a degree in education with the desire of becoming a teacher. All applications need to be received no later than April 8, 2022 to the address below, which is also on the application. If you have any questions, please contact me at amber.teager@gctschools.net

** Textbook Brokers in Conway, AR is sponsoring a Book Scholarship to  students attending UCA, CBC or UACCM in Fall 2022.  They have provided a link for students to fill out their information for a chance to win a Textbook Scholarship for Fall 2022. Each scholarship will cover the full cost of books for the Fall 2022 semester. There will be  2 winners chosen  at UCA and UACCM then one winner for CBC. They will announce the winners on Facebook and Instagram, May 16th 2022. Students can also visit our website www.conwaybooks.com and fill out the scholarship form under our "info" tab. One entry person.

Seniors:  Clay County Cattleman's Association's scholarship application is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  This is for students pursuing a degree in Animal  Science and/or agriculture.  Deadline is May 1st. 

Seniors:  A representative from TRC will be here on  Wednesday, April 13 to answer any questions and for those who have been accepted, she will register you for Fall classes.  See Mrs. Amber if you are interested.

**Seniors:  The Clay County Farm Bureau Scholarship application is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  You must be a child or grandchild of a Clay County Farm Bureau member, 2.5 GPA, and preferably seeking a degree in agriculture or the medical field - but this is not a requirement.  Deadline April 15, 2022
