Announcements 1-3-22

There will be a Junior High baseball meeting Wednesday 1/5 at 1:35 for about 10 minutes in the old gym. 

There will be a Sr High Baseball meeting Today, Monday, at 11:50 in Coach Rabjohn's room #239. 

Archery practice will be Monday 1/3-- 7th-12th after school until 4:30---Tuesday 1/4--7th-8th - after school until 4:30-9th-12th - 4:30-5:30

Any Teacher who has not entered the Report Cards for 1st Semester should do so immediately as we have to do Verification sheets before report cards can be printed. Thank you.


Anyone who may be interested in archery please come to a practice and try it out.  It is not too late to join and we are always looking for students who want to participate in Piggott Mohawk Archery. The tryouts for archery will take place after Christmas break.  The teams will be picked after the tryouts.  

Seniors:  If you are 18 and interested in taking EMT courses through BRTC Paragould - starting in January on Tuesday and Thursday evenings - see Mrs. Amber.

Seniors:  If you are not interested in taking the WorkKeys certification, I need your opt-out form brought back ASAP.  If you need another copy, see Mrs. Amber.

Jr/Sr High boys' basketball team  will play Osceola Tuesday night at Osceola. No 7th Grade Game. The games will begin at 5:30.  Please dismiss at 2:45.

 ---Monday,  1/3 vs Osceola - 7G/JrG/SrG beginning at 5:00. Monday, Dec 20 at Walnut Ridge 7/Jr/Sr at 5:00.

Miss Sadie will have Mohawk and Senior tattoos for sale in her room on game days during basketball season for $1.


Students:  According to the handbook- Pajama bottoms, Pajama tops, house shoes, and Blankets are NOT permitted.  Please do not carry blankets to school. 

***ALSO, according to the handbook p. 38, No student may be checked out for the purpose of lunch.

****New Guidelines for Covid-19. •The definition of a close contact in a school setting has changed from within 6 feet for 15 minutes to within 3 feet for 15 minutes.

  • •Test-to-stay protocols now apply to extracurricular activities instead of only applying to the school day.
  • Remember: •Vaccination eliminates the need for quarantine., •If both the case and the contact are masked, there is no need for quarantine. 

ATTENTION:    Students are not to park on the back side of the New Gym.  Please park in the main parking lot or Sr Football at Old Gym.  Reminder: Students are not to go to their vehicles during class, between classes or anytime during the day without permission. 


**ASU Scholarship--Incoming Arkansas Freshmen May Eligible for L2H Award

 Up to seven students from around the state of Arkansas will be awarded the License2Howl scholarship for the 2022-2023 academic year. These scholarships are valued at $5,000 for the year and are renewable. The L2H application process runs from Oct 1, 2021, until Feb. 1, 2022.   -- L2H scholarships are made possible because of Arkansans who purchased the A-State license plate and are for Arkansas residents who will be full-time freshmen on the Jonesboro campus in Fall 2021. Qualified applicants must have a minimum ACT Superscore of 23 and a high school GPA of 3.25 or above. The selection committee will evaluate demonstrated leadership qualities and student involvement. Help put promising young leaders in the running for the Foundation's largest scholarship award before the Jan. 6 deadline.  High school seniors nationwide who demonstrate leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship are invited to apply for the 2022 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program. This program annually provides college-bound students with $10,000 renewable scholarships - up to $40,000 total per recipient - and supports them as they lead and serve in college and beyond.
