ACT- Registration deadline for the ACT given here at PHS on Dec. 11  without late fees is Friday, November 5.  Register online at actstudent.org

Students:  According to the handbook- Pajama bottoms, Pajama tops, house shoes, and Blankets are NOT permitted.  Please do not carry blankets to school.

Art Club members need to sign up for club officers in the art room and turn in art t-shirt designs before Friday.

** 7th Grade and Jr. High Football will be having pictures made this Friday morning, Oct. 29 during 1st pd.  7th graders will be excused from 1st pd.  

ML and Sr. High FBLA will be selling nachos and water on Friday. We will come around with carts during 3rd, 4th, and 5th periods. If a student wants to purchase a plate and has not seen the cart by lunch time, come to Mrs. Peters'  room to purchase. Nachos will be $3 and water will be $1.

 Halloween Costume Day will be this Friday, Oct. 29. Those wearing a costume must pay $1.00.  A FCCLA officer will come around 2nd hour Fri. to collect your $1.00 and mark your hand.  Also, FCCLA along with Piggott State Bank will sponsor a Halloween Costume Contest.  No extra charge, it will be held in the FCS room during 5th hr at 11:45.  There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place certificates and cash prizes. Of course School appropriate costumes!  ---Teachers, If you would like to get in on the fun, this Friday, we will have a separate costume contest for teachers with Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.  Hats are allowed if they pay $1.  No large masks/heads unless approved by Mr. Seegraves.

The following students will be attending the National FFA Convention October 26-29th in Indianapolis, IN: Jessie Henson, Riley Jo Gossett, Laura Jackson, Dixie Book, Kelsey Wilson, Leslie Reaves, Evan Hartwell, Jason Jefferies

Miss Sadie will have Seniors Rule and Mohawk face tattoos for sale in her room this Friday for $1.

Archery practice will begin on Tuesday, November 2nd.  Ms. Jenna Stender will be the archery coach for Middle School level (6th-8th) and High School level (9th-12th).  Anyone who is interested in being on the archery team should attend as many practices as possible.  Practice for 7th and 8th grade is right after school until 4:30.  Practice for 9th-12th grade is 4:30-5:30.  

POSTPONED -There will be a meeting Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 11:00 a.m. for any student in grades 9-12 who would like to join the Mohawk Pep Club.  The meeting will be in the Middle Gym.

Jostens will be here on Tuesday, November 30 to deliver class rings.

**The following people have not turned in a baby picture for the yearbook, you have until Friday to turn them in or email them to Mrs. Diana. --Layla Alsup, Kalaya Cole, Rylie Collier-Siebert, Joe Holland, Zeke Perschbacher, Preston James, James Poole,  and Austin Thrasher.

**Senior Recognition ads are due by Friday, November 12.  Parents can make an appointment with Mrs. Diana if they would like to help design their child's page.  Ads can also be purchased at Jostenyearbooks.com. 

PHS Teachers are selling St. Louis Cardinal Calendars for $16.  This is a nice 15" x 22" Calendar filled with Pictures of the players and all Spring Training and Regular Season Games marked.  Profits will go to fund a scholarship given by the PHS teachers.  Please contact Faith Conley or Amber Harrell for ordering information. Orders are due by Monday, Nov. 15.  Any teacher who sells 10 calendars will receive a voucher for 2 home tickets to a Cardinal game next year.  If you sell less than 10, your name will be put in a drawing for a voucher for 2 tickets.

There will be an Art Club meeting for all paid members at 11:45 in the art room on Friday, October 29th.  A list of members will be sent to teachers on Thursday. 

There will be a pep rally on Thursday, 11/04 at 9:45. Students should go to their 3rd hour class and wait on the band to dismiss them by playing down the hallway. ---Please dismiss Sr. High Cheerleaders (Micha Harrell, Olivia Woolard, Natalie Boyd, Autumn Covert, Taylor Blackwell, Anna Haley, Karter Webb, Nyla Dees) on Thursday, 11/04 at 9:00 to get ready for the Pep Rally. The Pep Rally will begin around 9:45 when the band plays down the hallway. Jr High Cheerleaders should be dismissed on Thursday 11/04 at 9:00 for the pep rally (Olivia Blackwell, Summer Aarlie, Jeanie Leggett, Brileigh Daniels, Gracelyn Holmes, Hannah Edmunds)

There will be a meeting on Thursday, Nov. 4 at 2:10 in the New Gym for any girl grades 9-12 who would like to play on the Softball team this year.

****New Guidelines for Covid-19. •The definition of a close contact in a school setting has changed from within 6 feet for 15 minutes to within 3 feet for 15 minutes.

  • •Test-to-stay protocols now apply to extracurricular activities instead of only applying to the school day.
  • Remember: •Vaccination eliminates the need for quarantine., •If both the case and the contact are masked, there is no need for quarantine. 

ATTENTION:    Students are not to park on the back side of the New Gym.  Please park in the main parking lot or Sr Football at Old Gym.  Reminder: Students are not to go to their vehicles during class, between classes or anytime during the day without permission. 

 FCCLA is sponsoring a Powderpuff football game on Tuesday,  November 2 at 6:00 pm!  

Make-up picture day will be Wednesday, November 3.  We will start with seniors at 8 a.m.  The rest of the students and faculty will be after the seniors are done.

**GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program --Since 2000, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute has awarded $10 million in scholarships to more than 500 students. Help put promising young leaders in the running for the Foundation's largest scholarship award before the Jan. 6 deadline.  High school seniors nationwide who demonstrate leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship are invited to apply for the 2022 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program. This program annually provides college-bound students with $10,000 renewable scholarships - up to $40,000 total per recipient - and supports them as they lead and serve in college and beyond. Applications for the 2022 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program will be accepted online until Jan. 6, 2022. Additional information, eligibility requirements, and a link to the application are available online.
