Announcements 10-25-21

The band will need to be dismissed after 2nd Lunch on Monday to play at the Red Ribbon Rally at the Elementary School.  Jr and Sr High cheerleaders will need to be dismissed at 1:00 on Monday and will return after the rally.

Happy Birthday to PHS FBLA. Any senior high or middle level FBLA member wearing an FBLA t shirt or blue and gold should see Miss Sadie or Mrs. Peters to be entered into the cash drawing by noon today. The drawing will be held at 1:00 pm.

ACT- Registration deadline for the ACT given here at PHS on Dec. 11  without late fees is Friday, November 5.  Register online at actstudent.org

Please excuse the following FCCLA members. They will be attending the National FCCLA Fall Conference in Washington, DC Thursday and Friday Nov.4 & 5:  Sienna Jones, Emma Riddle, Tamia Davis and Haley Hanners. 

Please excuse Shawn-Hudson Seegraves and Nathalie Burr on Friday, Oct. 29 at 1:00 p.m. for the Heath/Wellness Meeting in the Teacher's Lounge.

FCCLA asked  and Coach Seegraves approved a Halloween Costume Day for this Friday, Oct. 29. Those wearing a costume must pay $1.00.  A FCCLA officer will come around 2nd hour Fri. to collect your $1.00 and mark your hand.  Also, FCCLA along with Piggott State Bank will sponsor a Halloween Costume Contest.  No extra charge, it will be held in the FCS room during 5th hr at 11:45.  There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place certificates and cash prizes. Of course School appropriate costumes!

Yearbook Orders--Order by Friday, Nov. 12. Forms are in the office or will be given by English teachers.  Price is $45 for the yearbook or add one line of personalization for $6 . Please turn in forms and money to Mrs. Natalie by due date.  Make checks payable to PHS yearbook.  You may also order online at jostensyearbooks.com

There will be a meeting Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 11:00 a.m. for any student in grades 9-12 who would like to join the Mohawk Pep Club.  The meeting will be in the Middle Gym.

There will be an Art Club meeting for all paid members at 11:45 in the art room on Friday, October 29th.  A list of members will be sent to teachers on Thursday.  

There will be a meeting on Thursday, Nov. 4 at 2:10 in the New Gym for any girl grades 9-12 who would like to play on the Softball team this year.

Art Club members need to sign up for club officers in the art room and turn in art t-shirt designs before Friday.

Congratulations to Piggott High School’s  own Chloe Sexton a Junior has just been elected as the FCCLA District 3 VP of Community Service.

****New Guidelines for Covid-19. •The definition of a close contact in a school setting has changed from within 6 feet for 15 minutes to within 3 feet for 15 minutes.

  • •Test-to-stay protocols now apply to extracurricular activities instead of only applying to the school day.
  • Remember: •Vaccination eliminates the need for quarantine., •If both the case and the contact are masked, there is no need for quarantine. 

** 7th Grade and Jr. High Football will be having pictures made Friday morning during 1st pd.  7th graders will be excused from 1st pd.  

ATTENTION:    Students are not to park on the back side of the New Gym.  Please park in the main parking lot or Sr Football at Old Gym.  Reminder: Students are not to go to their vehicles during class, between classes or anytime during the day without permission. 

 FCCLA is sponsoring a Powderpuff football game on Tuesday,  November 2 at 6:00 pm!  

Make-up picture day will be Wednesday, November 3.  We will start with seniors at 8 a.m.  The rest of the students and faculty will be after the seniors are done.
