Students attending the FBLA Fall conference on Wednesday: The bus will leave at 7:45 am and return around 2:15. Bring $15 for lunch

Math tutoring for interested 7th and 8th graders will start Tuesday, Oct 1.  This will be right after school for an hour.  7th and 8th graders interested in coming to after school tutoring for math - see Mrs. Amber.

All 7th - 12th grade basketball boys need to go to Coach Dodd’s room during advisory today.

7th graders: Please fill out the Artist Choice survey found in your email by today - Friday at 11 am

Chess players need to have their permission slip for the Hoxie Tournament returned to Mr. H by today -Friday, Sep 27.  Otherwise you will not be going.

 Tennis players need to go to Mrs. Heather's room today during Advisory -Friday.

The fishing derby this weekend has been postponed.  If you were signed up for volunteer hours check the announcements for a rescheduled date.

Seniors need to turn in their baby photo for the yearbook by Wednesday, October 2nd. They can email it to Mrs. Huckabay or bring it in an envelope with their name on it. If it is your only copy of the photo, please make a copy before bringing it.

Anyone in grades 9th-12th, who is taking or has taken an art class and made at least a "B" average and would like to join the Art Club needs to pay Mrs. Tate $15, by October 4th.

The Flu Clinic will be October 16.  Forms will be sent home next week and can be turned in to Mrs. Ashley.  There will be extra forms in the office for staff.  

Blood Drive November 1, 2024.  See Mrs. Amber to sign up.  You must be at least 16 years old.  16 year olds will need a permission slip signed.  

All High School FBLA members have been added to the FBLA Google Classroom and should check it regularly to stay updated.

Any FBLA member interested in a volunteer opportunity on Saturday, October 12 should see Mrs. Peters as soon as possible.


Class Elections -2024-25

*The posters to run for class officers are located outside the counselor’s office.

*Students must have a 2.0 GPA and may only run for one office.

*Must not have any OSS or ISS from last school year or the current year

*DO NOT sign another student’s name to the poster.

*You have to be signed up to run for office by the end of the day Thursday, October 3.

*You must be up to date on paying class dues.

*No more than 4 candidates may sign up for each office

*2 Class Representatives will be chosen



Homecoming is October 4 vs Harrisburg! Dress up days are:

Monday Sept 30 Rhyme without Reason (pair up with a friend wearing costumes that rhyme but otherwise have nothing in common)

Tuesday Oct 1 Soccer moms vs BBQ dads (dress as a stereotypical soccer  mom or BBQ dad)

Wednesday Oct 2 Class color day ( 7th red, 8th orange, 9th blue, 10th green, 11th purple, 12th pink, teachers/faculty black)

Thursday, Oct 3 Celebrity day (dress as your favorite celebrity)

Friday, Oct 4 Spirit Day ( Show your Mohawk pride by wearing red and black)




9th - 12th Graders:  The Piggott Chamber of Commerce has added a community service tab to their website.  This resource will be available as of today.  The link is live and already has 3-4  service options available for as soon as next week.

First Methodist Church of Piggott has some events coming up that could help students obtain Community Service hours. They will be hosting the following events coming up that students may come volunteer to help set up/ help during/take down: 

  1. Night of Praise and Worship Concert September 6th (hours 5 pm-9 pm)

  2. American Red Cross Blood Drive September 9th (hours 12:30pm-6:30pm)

  3. Marc Cave Concert September 12th (hours 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm)

  4. Monthly Community Meal and Food Distribution every 3rd Sunday of the month (Next one: September 15th hours 5pm-7pm)

If anyone is interested in getting hours by helping with these events, they may contact Payton Collins (Youth Director) at 501-424-9320 for more information! 


 Students are not to park in the band parking lot, Dollar General lot, or church parking lot. Legal drivers must park in the main parking lots only. See Mrs. Amber for a parking tag.

Students - once you are on school property in the mornings, you are not allowed to leave.  This goes for car riders, bus riders, and walkers.

*Astate is offering Free Application days between Oct 1 - 14 for Fall 2025.

*Oct 15 College Fair 10:00 – 11:30

*Arkansas Academy of Hair Design scholarship application is in Mrs. Amber’s office.  Deadline is Feb 28, 2025
