Congratulations to the Baseball team for defeating Rector last Friday.

Seniors: SEMO @ Kennett will be having a fall registration day on TODAY,Tuesday, March 5. If you have any questions you can call Karen Tucker at 573-888-0513.

SENIORS:  The Local Scholarship applications are on the website under the MENU: Senior Info/Scholarships.  Deadline for local scholarship application is Friday, April 5, 2019.

NOTICE: If you plan to audition for the Spring Play please stop by and see Miss Vernon sometime today. Auditions will not be held this evening due to circumstances beyond her control. We need to revise the audition dates.   Auditions for the spring production by the Drama Club will be from 4:30 to 6:30 on Tuesday, March 5 and Thursday, March 7th. Students must pick up an audition packet and conflict sheet and return them before they audition. Packets will be available by Wednesday of this week.

Any Drama club member that is planning to see Beauty and the Beast.

This Wednesday is the last day to register for the basketball 3 on 3 tournament on Saturday, March 9.  If you want to have a team, contact Billy Joe Seal.  This is a fundraiser for the PHS After Prom. The tournament will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Sunday, March 10 in the High School Library, there will be an After Prom meeting to discuss plans for After Prom.  All parents and juniors need to attend this meeting.

We will be celebrating Donut Day on Thursday, March 14th! Each student, pk-12, and employee will receive a donut thanks to our generous banks. If anyone, including kids, want to order extra they are $9.50 a dozen for glazed and $10.50 for chocolate. Please let me know by Friday, March 8th. Payment is due when ordering. 

This Friday, March 8 is the deadline without late fees for the ACT April 13 test.  This test will not be given at PHS.

This Wednesday, March 6, the Piggott FFA CDE Teams will be competing at ASU. The last day of this nine weeks is Thursday, March 7.  P.T. Conference will be next Thursday on March 14 beginning at 3:30 until 7:00.

--We now have our Grab'n'Go cart set up in the high school cafeteria. Any student that didn't get breakfast will have a chance to eat again during the Activity period. It will be quick foods not hot foods. You must stay in the cafeteria with the food.

Any girl who is or has been in track who still has their uniform needs to bring it to room 240 before lunch or Coach Slaven's office after lunch this week.

Softball game is at Manila on Tuesday.  Please excuse the softball team at 1:50 on Tuesday.  The Sr High Track Team will have a meet at Pocahontas on Thursday, March 7, they will be dismissed at 2:00. The Baseball game will be on Corning on Thursday, and the Softball team will play at Gosnell. Please excuse baseball at 1:50 and softball at 1:30.

SENIORS: Jostens has established a scholarship program to assist high school seniors who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student's choice.

The program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation's largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. MEETINGS THIS WEEK:

Arkansas Junior Historians will meet on Thursday, March 6 in Room #207 during activity period.

Cheer tryouts for the 2019-2020 school year will be March 15. Tryout clinic will be next week March 11-March 14. Sign up sheets and information packets are in the office.

Seniors:  Farm Credit scholarship is available online at farmcreditmidsouth.com/community/scholarships - deadline is March 8, 2019.  Applicants must be sponsored by a Farm Credit Midsouth customer.

Seniors:  The Reverend Charlie E. and Cinderella S. Taylor Sr. Foundation scholarship application is available at http://www.cctaylorfoundation.org/application.html Deadline is March 31, 2019

Seniors:  American Legion scholarship application is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  Must be child, grandchild, or great grandchild of American Legionnaire.  Application must be received at their department on or before March 12, 2019.

Seniors:  MFA scholarship application is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  Deadline is March 15, 2019.  Consideration goes to applicants furthering their education related to agriculture or other fields of study that benefit rural life.

SENIORS:  The Arkansas School Plant Management Association scholarship application is for any graduating senior planning to attend a college/university, vocational-technical or trade school who has at least a 3.0 GPA and at least a 19 on the ACT.  You must complete the application, essay, and 2 recommendation letters. See Mrs. Amber, Mrs. Conley, or Ms. Rachel for more information. Deadline is April 1.

Seniors:  The Hannah Blankenship Memorial Scholarship is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  This scholarship will be awarded to a young woman pursuing an agricultural field of study.  Applications must be submitted by April 1.

Applications for the Arkansas Rural Education Scholarship for School employee's child is available.  Due date is  April 5, 2019.  See Mrs. Amber or Mrs. Conley for application.

Seniors:  The Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry scholarship application is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  You must have a "B" average to apply.  The deadline to receive applications is April 1, 2019
