Congratulations to the Jr high and Sr High Girls Basketball teams for defeating Armorel last night.

The following students will be dismissed this morning at 8:30am to
compete in the Piggott District Spelling Bee:Jina Clifford, Emily Conley, Londyn Morton, Ava Baggett, 
Tamia Davis, Shawn-Hudson Seegraves, Easton Laden.

Friday is Ugly Christmas Sweater Day.

All Seniors should wear their Senior t-shirts for a retake group picture for the yearbook Wednesday TODAY, during activity period in the New Gym. 

Also, the yearbook staff will be taking up Senior Quotes, these will be personal quotes that go under their yearbook picture.

Announcement from the Principal:  No one is allowed in the New Gym unless Basketball, Volleyball, or P.E. with Coaches.  

9th - 12th graders ----If you are wanting a schedule change for spring semester, see Mrs. Amber before Christmas break. 7th/8th Grade see Mrs. Conley.

Yearbook prices are now $42 until January 11.  Order forms are in the office.  

TOMORROW -Piggott is in the mix for the Yarnell's Sweetest Play of the Year.   You can vote at https://www.yarnells.com/sweetest-play, the poll closes December 13th at 12:00pm. The winning school receives the following: - Grand prize trophy, - $1,000 to the respective school’s booster club, - Yarnell’s Ice Cream party

FCCLA is spreading holiday Cheer with Letter Canes!!!  If you would like to purchase a candy cane that you can personalize and have it delivered on Friday Dececmber 14th during 2nd hour bring $1.00.  A FCCLA member will be checking during activity period each of those days for money and messages.

The art class food drive will end this Friday.  All donations will be given to the First General Baptist food pantry.  Everyone is invited to participate.  

Mrs. Sherry needs to set up times to take Club/Organization Pictures for the yearbook.  Please email her ASAP.

Jostens will be here on TOMORROW Thursday, Dec. 13 to deliver class rings.  You must have your balanced paid before you can pick up your ring.

LOST AND FOUND:  There have been several items from the Middle Gym turned into the office.  Please see Mrs. Shamala or Mrs. Conley if you are missing a jacket, etc.

Seniors:  American Legion scholarship application is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  Must be child, grandchild, or great grandchild of American Legionnaire.  Application must be received at their department on or before March 12, 2019.

SENIORS: Seven License2HOWL Scholarships are available for the 2018-19 academic year for incoming freshmen at Arkansas State University. These scholarships are valued at $5,000 for the year and are renewable for recipients who continue to meet criteria and re-apply.Beginning this year, we will be utilizing the application process for incoming freshmen through the University’s privately funded scholarship process. The application link will be available from December 2, 2018 - February 1, 2019. 

L2H scholarships are for Arkansas residents who will be full-time freshmen on the Jonesboro campus, have a minimum ACT score of 23 and a high school GPA of 3.25 or above. Also, please note the acceptable GPA has changed from 3.5 to 3.25 in an effort to accommodate more students, giving them the opportunity to receive one of these awards. The selection committee will evaluate demonstrated leadership qualities and student involvement.

Seniors:  If you plan on majoring in education and enroll in an Arkansas college you can apply for the AAFC Scholarship. Go to www.theaaea.org.  Click "Constituent Groups", “AAFC”, then “AAFC Scholarship.”  The completed application must be received on or before January 10, 2019.

SENIORS:  https://nspma.org/wp-content/u...The National School Plant Management Association (NSPMA) seeks to assist qualified students who are continuing their education by offering scholarships to those pursuing an Associates or Bachelor degree.  Any graduating high school senior, college freshman, sophomore, or junior is eligible to apply for a scholarship. The total number of scholarship awards is based on the NSPMA Scholarship Trust Funds, and awards are based on the selection criteria (financial need, academic achievement, co-curricular participation, community service, and essay response). Individual scholarships may range from $500 up to $1,500 depending on the candidate’s interest, evaluation results, and recommendation from the NSPMA Scholarship Committee. The application receipt deadline is February 1, 2019.  For additional information, please contact Mike Mertens.    2019 NSPMA Scholarship
