Announcements Tuesday, May 1, 2018

9th/10th Grade ACT Aspire testing will be Tuesday and Wednesday, May 1 and 2.  Students, please be quiet and respectful in the hallways.  Testing should be finished near the end of 4th pd on Tuesday and activity period on Wednesday.

Please excuse the following students May 1st.  Periods 1-3. The following students will be at the elementary all day on Thursday, May 10th for the Business Expo: Natalie Blake, Madison Arenaz, Amber Fenton, Karla Craig, Jake Toombs, Cade Timms, Dillon Gibson, Micha Harrell, Rosie Garcia, Cameron Collier, and Tyson Peters.

Mr. Wellman needs to see the following students in his room Wednesday 5/2 at 11:30. Please pass this on to the students since we will not be doing announcements tomorrow due to testing. 2018-19 Sophomores interested in being a part of the Congressional Youth Cabinet -- see Mrs. Amber for an application. Deadline is May 18, 2018.

***Any senior who is wanting to present someone with a Life Impact Diploma needs to get their name turned in to Mrs. Natalie or Mrs. Amber by Tuesday, May 1.

***SENIORS: Baccalaureate service will be Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the Piggott First General Baptist Church on S. Taylor Ave.  All Seniors are encouraged to attend and be recognized.  Please bring caps and gowns.

 Track team will be competing on Tuesday.  Baseball will begin Regional play on Wednesday and be dismissed at 12:15.

Any senior high FBLA member who would like to work at the Elementary Spring Fest on Friday, May 4 should see Mrs. Peters no later than next Wednesday.

There will be a drama club meeting during activity period on Thursday, May 3, in Miss Vernon's room. We will be discussing plans for next year and invitations to ITS Troupe #7120 will be handed out. Don't miss it!

Art Club Members who are going on the trip next Tuesday must turn in money, permission forms, and food forms by Tuesday.

Seniors:  If you were not in Mrs. Flowers' class to get a last "to do" list from Mrs. Amber -- stop by her office and get one.

SENIORS:  If you owe any debts to the school, such as, lunch charges, book damages or losses (not just this year), fundraising debts, sports debts (basketball shoes, cheer debts), yearbook charges, beta cords, etc., these must be paid by May 1.  All debts must be paid before graduation in order to participate in the graduation ceremony. 

Seniors:  Holly Alonzo New Beginnings Scholarship is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  Deadline is May 3, 2018.

Baseball defeated Riverside and Walnut Ridge on Saturday and will play Monday against Manila for the District Championship.

Reminder:  Students are not to have food or drink in any classroom.  Please do not carry fountain soda cups or soda bottles into the main building in the morning or after lunch.  

There will be a meeting on Thursday, May 3 during activity period for all 8-11th graders (Girls and Boys) who would like to play Golf next school year in Coach Rabjohn's classroom #239.

Several College Algebra books have not been returned.  Please turn in books to Mrs. Crommie as soon as possible to avoid book charges.

Any student interested in taking the free ACT prep class there is a sign up sheet in Mrs. Amber's office.  It will be May 28 - June 8 - 9:00 am - 3:00pm.

Dress Code:  Remember the length of shorts and skirts cannot be higher than the length of a dollar bill above the kneecap.  Some of us may have grown taller since last fall.  Please check your length before you leave home. Also don't forget that no spaghetti straps or strapless tops and shirts worn with leggings must be fingertip length.

Any student planning to take the Driver's Test this Summer should see Mrs. Shamala to put their name on the list.  The forms will be filled out after Report Cards come out after school is out.

Seniors:  If you are attending Harding University, ASU Beebe, ASU Searcy or ASU Heber --- See Mrs. Amber for a Textbook Broker scholarship application.  Deadline May 31, 2018.

Seniors:  There is also a Textbook Scholarship for UCA- Conway, Central Baptist College, Conway, and UA Community College-Morrilton.  Deadline on this one is May 4, 2018.

Seniors:  If you are attending Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Textbook Brokers are awarding 4 students a full textbook rental scholarship for fall 2018. Deadline if May 4, 2018.  See Mrs. Amber or Mrs. Conley for link.
