Library will be closed during 2nd period today for Hannah Powell's signing with Crowley's Ridge College. Congratulations Hannah! Please dismiss all Senior High Volleyball and Softball members at 8:45 to attend.

Any 7-11th grade boy interested in playing basketball next year will need to go to in Room 239. Thursday, March 1 during activity period.

The Softball game for today has been cancelled.  The Baseball game with Highland has been changed to be played at Highland.  Please dismiss the Baseball team at 11:30.

Congratulations to the Emilee Seegraves for signing a tennis scholarship to attend Blue Mountain College in Mississippi. 

Seniors will meet in the library during fourth hour on Thursday TODAY  with Miss Vernon to vote on Who's Who.

The Archery Team will be in State Competition this week.  Please dismiss Aden Baggett, Dillon Gibson, Conner Jordan and Charlie Turner at 2:45 to go to the elementary school and all day on Friday. The Chess Team will be competing in State in Benton this Friday and Saturday also.

The yearbook staff needs to take the following photos during activity period on the dates below in the new gym:**Friday, March 2 - Baseball team members should report to the new gym at 4 p.m. on Friday.** Monday, March 5  - All track teams and the golf team.**Tuesday, March 6 - All Special Olympics Bowling Team and Basketball Team members should report to the new gym. All tennis team members should report to the new gym. **Friday, March 9 - Softball team members should report to the new gym.

Seniors:  The Clay County Cattleman's Association scholarship application is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  This is for students pursuing a degree in animal science and/or agriculture.  Deadline is April 13.

Miss Vernon needs to see all of the drama students who are attending the Wicked field trip briefly at the start of second lunch in her room. She needs confirmation of our lunch plans. Thank you.

Drama Club members, if something has changed and you are not going to be attending the Wicked field trip you need to notify Miss Vernon immediately. 

Did you forget to buy your yearbook? All yearbooks are now $45 and will be plain copies. Secure your copy of the 2018 PHS Mohawk today! See Miss V. in Room 224. 

Sophomores and Juniors interested in taking a college class next year needs to meet with Mrs. Amber in the library at 12:00.  If you are unable to meet at that time, you need to make arrangements to see Mrs. Amber.

FFA Week:  Thursday:  FFA Member Lunch  Friday (March 2):  Teacher/Faculty Appreciation Pancake Breakfast

Last Friday 2/23- Wild Hog CDE Contest in Fayetteville: FFA Land judging CDE team competed at the Wild Hog CDE contest in Fayetteville, AR and brought home 1st out of 21 teams with Cooper Harris and Matthew Cheshire placing 1st and 2nd high individuals. Land team: Cooper Harris, Matthew Cheshire, Dalton James and Ben Holcomb.

Congratulations to the Piggott FFA Land CDE Team for winning 1st out of 41 teams at the ASU Beebe CDE Contest!! Ben Holcomb placed 1st overall and Cooper Harris placed 3rd overall at the contest. Land Team members include Ben Holcomb, Cooper Harris, Dalton James and Matthew Cheshire.

Ideas are needed for an After Prom t-shirt. Any Junior interested in submitting a design for the After Prom t-shirt should do so by Thursday, March 1 . Please turn your ideas into the office.

 Cheerleading Try-out Sign-up sheets and permission forms are in the office.  Tryouts will be Friday, March 16. Parent meeting will be Thursday March 8.

Students entering 11th or 12th grade NEXT year - and are interested in the Project H.E.A.R.T. camp June 12-15, 2018 on the ASU campus in Jonesboro -see Mrs. Amber to submit an application.  Deadline is March 16.  Project HEART is an experience that can enlighten students about future career opportunities in healthcare and to the overall well-being of their community

****Seniors:  Hannah Blankenship scholarship application is available - you must have at least a 3.0 GPA, provide proof of SAE through FFA, and submit a 500-1000 essay.  Applications are available in Mrs. Amber's office.  Deadline is April 1, 2018. 

Students:  Many students have been wearing hoods in the hallways and classes.  You may put your hood up outside but inside the building, we are not to wear hoods up on your head.  This falls under the rule of no hats.

Lost and Found has several items that have been turned in.  If you are missing a jacket or coat, please see Mrs. Shamala or Mrs. Conley.

***Seniors:  RCE Vocational Scholarship application is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  This is for students going to Vo Tech or a Trade school.  The application makes you eligible for one of two scholarships - $500/$2500.  Deadline is March 28, 2018.

Seniors:  Farm Credit scholarship application is available online at farmcreditmidsouth.com/community/scholarships - deadline is March 8, 2018.  You must be sponsored by a Farm Credit Midsouth customer.

Seniors: If you are of documentable Native American descent from a federally recognized tribe - see Mrs. Amber for scholarship application.  Documentation required.  Deadline is April 16, 2018

Seniors:  We are taking a College Day to tour BRTC-Paragould, ASU-Jonesboro and back to ASU-Paragould. The date is pending right now.  Any senior who would like to go may take a college day. If you have already used your day, you may still go but it will be an absence.  We should return by 2:30.

Seniors:  Scholarship opportunity at www.theafoundation.org/scholarships. This is for any your artist, poet, fashion designer, performer, or filmmaker. You do not have to major in an art-related field.  This is good for any 2-yr or 4-yr college in AR.
