The 7th and 8th Grade Students will be going to the Middle Gym on Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 to watch "Voice on the Prairie" , a play put on by the Patrons of the Arts.   If you teach 7th/8th graders during this time then be sure to help monitor them.

**Spring Blood drive is February 21.  See Mrs. Amber to sign up.

FBLA Pizza Kits will be in Tuesday, February 20Members who sold MUST make arrangements to pick up their orders between 2:30 and 5 in the PHS Cafeteria. We are not able to store items after 5.

The following students will compete in the ASU Marked Tree Electrical Welding Competition on Tuesday, Feb. 20. John Jones, Cory Fuller, Cade Harrell, Elijah Bellers, and Alex Gibson.

FFA Week:  Wednesday is Greenhand Day.  All FFA members are going to report to the New Gym during Activity Period.  Greenhand and Chapter Farmer Degrees will be handed out at this time.  Thursday:  NEA Weld-a-thon: Quentin Reeves, Alex Gibson, and Jordan Simpson.  Friday Wild Hog CDE Contest in Fayetteville:  Cooper Harris, Matthew Cheshire, Dalton James, and Ben Holcomb.

Teachers,Please excuse the following FCCLA members today after 4th hour and all day tomorrow for the State STAR Event competition: Ashlyn Roberts, Kaylee Smith, Destiny Hall, Carly Benbrook, and Molly Lambert.

Friday, Feb. 23, is the final day to order a personalized copy of the 2018 PHS Mohawk yearbook. Plain books are $42 and personalized books are $47. Please make checks payable to Piggott High School and order in Room 224. You can also order online at jostensyearbooks.com. Just search for Piggott High School. Be aware sales tax is collected on online orders. Thank you.

Mandatory Girls Track Practice for grades 7-12 will begin next Tuesday, February 20thIt will last from 3:30-4:30 and will be held at the track.

Jr. High Baseball practice MondayTuesday and Thursday 6 to 7:30 at the old gym.

The Area I Special Olympics Basketball Competition will be Friday, February 23. Please put this on your calendars.

Drama club students who are interested in going to see Wicked on March 8 , need to see Miss Vernon by the end of the day on Wednesday, Feb. 21. Tickets will be between $60 and $75 for balcony seating. This is the closest seating still available. Money will be needed as soon as possible. 

The 1st Annual Miss Mohawk Beauty Pageant hosted by the Piggott Mohawk Band Boosters will be on February 24, 2018 in the middle gym. In order to participate in the Miss Northeast Arkansas Pageant you will need to participate and place in the top five in your category in the Miss Mohawk Pageant. Registration packets can be picked up in the high school office or Mr. Wortham in the band room.

STUDENTS:  Any students who parked their vehicle behind the school or at the Old Gym needs to move the vehicles during activity period.  It will be checked. Students are to park in the parking lot by the New Gym and Middle Gym only.

Students:  Many students have been wearing hoods in the hallways and classes.  You may put your hood up outside but inside the building, we are not to wear hoods up on your head.  This falls under the rule of no hats.

Students planning to take the driver's test in February should see Mrs. Shamala by Friday, February 23 to get their paperwork.  The test will be on Tuesday, February 27.

**The following seniors have not submitted profiles to Miss Vernon. These were due on JANUARY 13th. If you do not get a profile turned in by , you will not have profile info in the yearbook, or an article in the Clay County Times-Democrat’s graduation section! Be responsible and get this done, please! Elijah Bellers,

***Seniors:  RCE Vocational Scholarship application is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  This is for students going to Vo Tech or a Trade school.  The application makes you eligible for one of two scholarships - $500/$2500.  Deadline is March 28, 2018.

Seniors:  Farm Credit scholarship application is available online at farmcreditmidsouth.com/community/scholarships - deadline is March 8, 2018.  You must be sponsored by a Farm Credit Midsouth customer.

Seniors: If you are of documentable Native American descent from a federally recognized tribe - see Mrs. Amber for scholarship application.  Documentation required.  Deadline is April 16, 2018

SENIORS:  This website allows you to see the different scholarships available to  students from schools all over the country.  LSU, SEMO, Ole Miss, Univ of Tenn, Southwest Missouri State University, etc.

**Seniors:  Big Sun Scholarship.  Deadline  -  June 19, 2018   Amount of Award -$500.00 - Please visit the website at http://www.bigsunathletics.com to learn how to apply.

Seniors:  We are taking a College Day to tour BRTC-Paragould, ASU-Jonesboro and back to ASU-Paragould. The date is pending right now.  Any senior who would like to go may take a college day. If you have already used your day, you may still go but it will be an absence.  We should return by 2:30.

Seniors:  Scholarship opportunity at www.theafoundation.org/scholarships. This is for any your artist, poet, fashion designer, performer, or filmmaker. You do not have to major in an art-related field.  This is good for any 2-yr or 4-yr college in AR.
