January is School Board Appreciation Month. Thank you Piggott School District School members: Jennifer Rahn, Jim Threatt, Hope Burns, Bradley Dunlap, Chris Roberts. We appreciate all you do for our schools.
Progress report grades must be in the computer by the end of the day on Tuesday, Feb 2. Progress reports will be sent home on Thursday, Feb. 4.
Congratulations to Coach Paul Seegraves who has been selected as the Southwest Section Boys Tennis Coach of the Year. He was nominated by AAA. The Southwest Section consists of Arkansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. We are so proud of you, Coach Seegraves!

THIS Friday, January 29 is a FLEX DAY. We will have Flex days on Fridays until further notice. Students coming to school should report to the cafeteria. Breakfast and Lunch will be served.
Seniors: Mrs. Amber has emailed you the study guide for the Civics Exam you have to take and pass in order to graduate. She will be contacting you in the next week or so with the testing schedule.
PACE is now taking Valentine orders. They are $5 and include a stuffed animal and a bag of candy. Orders are due by Feb. 3rd. Turn orders and money into Mrs. Cassie, Mrs. Natalie, or the office. Students can get an order form by the library.
The following Sr. High FBLA members will be performing TODAY, Thursday for their competitions. Please excuse them all day. Dixie Book, Mycah Blascoe, Hayden Blue, Natalie Boyd, Rosie Garcia, Elise Gossett, Anna Haley, Micha Harrell, Paylee Myhre, Tyson Peters, Alyssa Russell, Chandler Smart, Skylar Stone, Macey Williams, and Madison Wintizer
The following ML members will present on Thursday also, but will be in school: Sydney Johnson and Taylor Peters - they should be excused 2-3 periods.
Girls in grades seven through twelve: Entry forms for the Miss Mohawk pageant may be found on the counter in the high school office. Entry form and entry fee are due Feb. 12.
CANCELED**Senior High Archery Practice will be this week on Thursday, Jan 28 at 4:30 at the Elementary School.
The PHS Pre-AP class is selling pillows for $5.60 or $6 donation near the art room. See Mrs. Tate if interested. The proceeds will go to the Hunter Midkiff scholarship fund and to the Gilbee Family.

Attention Students: PLEASE carry a water bottle as you are not able to get a drink from the fountain unless you have a bottle. It can be a disposable type or a reusable type.
You MUST WEAR MASKS in the hallway and in classes that cannot be socially distanced. Please also put your masks on anytime you are mobile including the cafeteria during lunch. Students must come in the cafeteria/building when arriving at school. No one is to stay in vehicles in the parking lot or leave campus. This is not a new rule.
2020-2021 PHS yearbook order forms were sent home. There is a payment plan to help our families. Online ordering is available at Jostensyearbooks.com.

***Seniors: Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program-Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants are pleased to be able to continue with our scholarship program for the 15th year. We will be awarding up to $1,000 to the winner(s) each year. Scholarship Deadline - June 12, 2021.
Application Process-Students will submit an essay on the topic that appears on the scholarship page of our web site: http://www.abbottandfenner.com/scholarships.htm Full details are available on our site.
***Seniors: The AAFC is offering the AAFC scholarship and is available at http://www.theaaea.org You must be planning to major in the field of education, have at least a 3.0 GPA, exhibit a good citizenship record with no suspensions or expulsions, and participate in service or academic organizations or extracurricular activities. The completed application must be received on or before February 19, 2021
***Seniors: The USDA has 2 scholarships for students seeking a degree in the field of agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, or other related fields and attend an eligible 1890 and 1994 Land-Grant University. Contact Mrs. Amber for a link to the application. Deadline is January 31, 2021.
**Seniors: Williams Baptist University offers a Williams Works Program which is a work program where students will work 16 hours a week and receive a work scholarship to cover tuition. Deadline to apply is February 1, 2021. Apply at williamsbu.edu/williamsworks or see Mrs. Amber.
^^^^LICENSE2HOWL SCHOLARSHIP- Entering Freshman Awards (for those entering A-State in Fall 2021) ---AMOUNT AND TERM OF AWARD: $5,000 per academic year ($2,500 per semester) provided income to the fund is sufficient. Up to seven awards will be presented annually.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR RECEIVING SCHOLARSHIP:
***The EAST scholarship provides high school seniors who participate in their campus EAST programs the opportunity to earn a 12-15 hour tuition scholarship while attending the University of Arkansas at Monticello. UAM awards two per year. Application is attached and listed criteria below:
***Seniors: The MFA Foundation Scholarship is available online at www.MFAFoundation.com.Applicants must be a child or grandchild (including step) of a member -level customer. The membership number and relation must be on the application. Deadline is February 15, 2021
****University of Central Arkansas -The Windgate Scholarship is based on talent and financial need and can be worth up to $2,000 per semester in the freshman year, based on amount of financial need. The scholarship is renewable and can increase up to $1,000 each year. In the senior year, up to $5,000 per semester can potentially be awarded. Two such scholarships will be awarded to incoming freshmen for the 2021-2022 academic year. To be eligible for the Scholarship, students must do the following:
1) Complete on-line submission of an FAFSA form by the deadline indicated in the Application. Instructions for accessing the form are provided in the Application; 2) Return a completed Application, along with the requested materials, via United States Mail, to my office by the deadline shown in the Application; 3) Plan to declare Art as their major emphasis of study; and, 4) Attend the University of Central Arkansas in the fall 2021 semester.

**Seniors: The American Legion Scholarship application is available in Mrs. Amber's office. You must be a child, grandchild, or great grandchild of an American Legionnaire. Applications must be received by March 12,2021.
