Announcements Thursday, November 9, 2017 

Teachers:  Progress Reports grades are due Thursday, November 9.  They will be sent home on Monday, November 13. Reminder:  Friday, November 17 is Perfect Attendance Day.

The Send-off for the Football team will be at 12:30.

The following FCCLA members will be attending the FCCLA Cluster meeting Thursday and Friday, Nov. 9 & 10Destiny Hall, Molly Lambert, Jolie Owen

Any Senior High FBLA member interested in competing should see Mrs. Peters by Friday of this week.

FBLA members going to the Grizzlies' game must have their permission slips turned in to Mrs. Peters by this Friday.

The yearbook staff will take Class Officers pictures during third hour on Monday, Nov. 13. Officers, please note this and remember to dress appropriately. 

Please excuse the Mohawk Band tomorrow Friday, November 10, 2017, from class the entire day. They will be traveling to Prescott to support the Mohawk Brotherhood as they take on Prescott in the 1st Round of the AAA Playoffs. 

Students who are going to the State Playoff Football Game in Prescott do not have to come to school tomorrow.  If you attend, you must check in with Mr. DeHart or Mr. Swann at the game or you will be counted absent. 

Seniors:  There is a free virtual college fair November 13-18 Go to www.collegefairsonline.com to register.

Three Rivers College - Kennett will have an information night for LPN nursing on November 16 @ 6:00pm - 1002 Great West Drive - call 573-888-6381 for more info.

November 15 is American Enterprise Day. As part of a 3-day series to raise awareness,  will be Mr. Joe Cole and Mrs. Tracy Cole who will discuss legal issues that arise in starting and maintaing a small business. These sessions are open to any PHS student. FBLA members who attend will receive Elevated Leader points. 

The 4H Youth Leadership team will be having a Penny Drive to benefit a needy family for Christmas.  There will be buckets in the office, library, and Mrs. Amber's office to donate.

PES is selling WoodWick Candles to fund their first ever Spring Fest!  All orders will arrive before Christmas Break.  Medium candle is $22 and Large candle is $28.  Available scents are Vanilla Bean, Lavender Spa, Fireside, Linen (large size only), Cinnamon Chai, Island Coconut, Pumpkin Butter (large size only), Sea Salt Caramel (medium size only), Frasier Fir (large size only), and At The Beach. Orders and payment are due by November 10th. If you would like to order, please see Mrs. Swann.  Let's support our younger Mohawks!

PES is doing a fundraiser for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). You will find order forms in your box to hand out to your English class. The money and order forms will need to be turned in to Mrs. Andrea Nanney by November 14.

Juniors and Seniors in Beta who wish to attend convention this year need to see Mrs. Flowers before the end of the day on Friday, November 17th.

Betas : Fruit and meat orders and money are due by Monday, November 13.

Please excuse the following FCCLA members next Tuesday November, 14 they will be competing in the FCCLA STAR Event Competition: Destiny Hall, Molly Williams, Carly Benbrook, Sydney Risinger, Madison Pool, Ashley Grissom, Jolie Owen, Ashlyn Roberts, Kaylee Smith

 Thursday, November 16th is the day of the dead festival in lab between Mr. Johnson's  and Coach Rau's room. Entrance fee is 5$ and 1$ for face painting. Ask Mrs. Cheng or refer to flyer for additional information. 

Any student in grades 9-12 wanting to join Educator's Rising needs to see Mrs. McPherson. The dues are only $5.  See her today in room 213!

It's time to Join FCCLA! Students in grades 9-12 interested in joining FCCLA are to see Mrs. Little. 

Juniors, You must pay your class dues ASAP.  See your CAPS advisor for what you owe.  November 1, 2017 was the deadline, your dues must be paid or arrangements made by this date. If you haven't paid your dues, you should see your CAPS advisor ASAP.

Jostens will be here on Friday, December 8 to deliver Junior class rings. 

Elementary Beta workers for Thursday, Nov 9 are Ericka Smart, Hannah Smart, Maggie Williams and Molly Williams. Students need to remember to sign in with Ms. Katina at elementary and sign in with Mrs. Shamala when arriving at high school.

**Seniors:  Big Sun Scholarship.  Deadline  -  June 19, 2018   Amount of Award -$500.00 - Please visit the website at http://www.bigsunathletics.com to learn how to apply.

Seniors:  We are taking a College Day to tour BRTC-Paragould, ASU-Jonesboro and back to ASU-Paragould. The date is pending right now.  Any senior who would like to go may take a college day. If you have already used your day, you may still go but it will be an absence.  We should return by 2:30.

Seniors:  Tuesday, November 28 is BRTC preview day.  Friday, November 17 is deadline to register.  See Mrs. Amber or Ms. Rachel for more info.

Seniors:  Sixt Rent a Car scholarship application available at https://www.sixt.com/sixt-scholars/  Deadline is Nov 30, 2017.

Seniors:  Scholarship opportunity at www.theafoundation.org/scholarships. This is for any your artist, poet, fashion designer, performer, or filmmaker. You do not have to major in an art-related field.  This is good for any 2-yr or 4-yr college in AR.

Seniors:  The Hagan Scholarship application is available at www.hsfmo.org - deadline is November 15, 2017.  See website for eligibility requirements.

Online orders may be paid with a debit or credit card, but be aware they will have 10% sales tax collected. Books ordered at high school will not have sales tax collected on them. Please make checks payable to Piggott High School. The yearbook staff and Miss Vernon thank you in advance for your continued support of our publication. 

*****************************************************************************FBLA will sell cookies at the beginning of 7th period  on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays to classrooms. Cookies are still $.75 each. We may not make it to every class every time we sell, but will alternate to make sure we get to every class at least once each week. 

Students:  The new door locks are now working.  You have one minute after the tardy bell rings before the door locks re-engage.  You may have to walk around to the front doors unless you are walking in later with a teacher.  Please be diligent about getting where you are supposed to be in a timely manner.

Do not knock loudly on or pull on the outside doors.  The doors are being damaged.  You will be responsible for any damages to the doors plus suspension.

Students:  When you arrive at school, you must come into the cafeteria.  Please do not stay in vehicles or walk off campus. Duty teachers will make room for you when you come in the doors.  Do NOT park in the VFW Building Parking Lot or by the Old Gym.

Students: Cell phones may used in the cafeteria ONLY- not in the hall way going to the cafeteria.
