Congratulations to the Mohawk Baseball Team for defeating Newport yesterday.

Teachers:  If you have not completed the survey that was sent by email, please do so today.  The PPC will meeting tomorrow and discuss two schedules that all the faculty and staff will vote on shortly.  

NOTICE-Date Change**-All 8th and 10th graders will have their BMI screening and 8th grade, their scoliosis screening on Tuesday, March 3rd  Wednesday, March 4. in the library starting around 9 am. 

**Senior Graduation items will be handed out on March 4 WEDNESDAY during 1st period to individuals who have a $0.00 balance. Payments WILL NOT be taken that day. You may make payments online at Jostens.com or call 1-800 Jostens (567-8967). If you have any questions you can contact Mrs. Natalie.

Any Beta who would be interested in working Special Olympics on Friday and who has not already spoken to Mrs. Flowers needs to see her during activity period on TODAY, Tuesday in room 225.

Seniors:  The Farm Bureau scholarship application is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  You must have a 2.5 GPA, be a child or grandchild of an active Clay County Farm Bureau member, and it is preferred that you are seeking a degree in agriculture or the medical field - but not a requirement.  Deadline April 15, 2020.

Congratulations to the Mohawk Weightlifting Team for winning the Mohawk Invitational Weight Meet on Friday.

Teachers:  Success Card drawing will be before Spring Break!  Please let you students know how they can use them or they can turn them in for the drawings.

PHS will host the Regional Special Olympics Basketball Competition on Friday, March 6.

Baseball today vs. Harrisburg at Home has been moved to Thursday at Harrisburg. Please dismiss Baseball at 12:30. Softball will play @ Rector on Thurs. March 5.

The following FCCLA members will be competing at the state competition and attending the state meeting next Monday - Wednesday March  2-4, 2020: Jordon Leggett, Emma Riddle, Madison Arenaz, Abby McCluskey, Maddy Wintizer, Mycah Blascoe, Ashlyn Roberts, Chloe Sexton, Hailey Thompson, Paylee Myhre, and Dixie Book.

eSports will meet after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Computer Lab.

There will be a Junior Historian meeting on Wednesday, March 4th in Mr. Harryman's room.This concerns the BransonTrip on March 20th.  So, if you plan to go on the field trip please attend the meeting.

***Juniors:  If you are planning on participating in Prom this year, and you havent' paid your dues please talk to one of the sponsors ASAP/

SENIORS planning on going on the Senior Trip on May 8 need to sign the sheet on the Office counter as soon as possible.

It is time to register for the following concurrent classes for fall 2020:You must have qualifying ACT or ACT Aspire scores. If you missed the meeting on Monday and are interested, see Mrs. Amber as soon as possible. Next ACT Test at PHS is June 13. Registration deadline for the June 13 test is May 8.

The 2nd Annual Spend a Day with a Judge contest is open for all Arkansas high school students.To enter, the students will either write an essay or draw a courtroom drawing (at the mock trial competition).  Entry forms for BOTH will be sent to spendadaywithajudge@gmail.com. BRTC MASH summer program: This is a 2 week camp for 10th and 11th graders interested in health careers.  The camp dates are June 8 -18 and camps are offered at two locations - Jonesboro and Pocahontas.  See Mrs. Amber for an application.  Deadline is April 3. 

LOST AND FOUND: There are several items that have been turned in to the office. There are also boxes under the bleachers in the New Gym and on the stage in the Middle Gym for anything left in that gym or the locker rooms.  If you are missing a jacket or other item, please check in the office ASAP.

MICROWAVES IN THE CAFETERIA - Students please wipe out the microwaves in the cafeteria after using.  This is not the cafeteria workers responsibility.  If you use the microwaves, please help us to be able to keep them by doing your part. Thank you.

Seniors:  Farm Credit scholarship application is available at FCMidsouth.com under the community tab.  You must be sponsored by a Farm Credit Midsouth board member.  DEADLINE is MARCH 6!!!

Seniors:  The Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry has a scholarship application available in Mrs. Amber's office.  You  must have a 3.0 GPA to apply.  Deadline is April 1, 2020.

Senior Girls:  The Alpha Delta Kappa organization for female educators is giving a scholarship of $750 to a high school female who is planning to attend college to receive a degree in education with the desire of becoming a teacher.  All applications need to be received no later than March 31, 2019 See Mrs. Amber or Mrs. Conley for applications. 

****Seniors:  The MFA scholarship application is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  The committee will consider scholastic progress, citizenship, extracurricular activities, educational plans, and financial need.  Deadline is March 13, 2020.  Turn in applications to Mrs. Amber.

Seniors:  Mrs. Amber has scholarship applications for the Arkansas Academy of Hair Design.  The deadline is March 30, 2020.  They have schools located in Paragould  and Jonesboro.  Cosmetology is offered at both campuses.  Esthetics and Nail Tech programs are offered at the Jonesboro campus.

Seniors:  The 2020-2021 ASPMA Scholarship Application is available now. All applications must be postmarked on or before April 1st, 2020.  Any graduating high school senior planning to attend a College/University, Vocational-Technical, or Trade School is eligible to apply. See Mrs. Amber or Mrs. Conley for an application or link. 

Seniors: --- see Mrs. Amber for a link to the application---The Arkansas Association of Career and Technical Education Administrators (AACTEA) is offering two AACTEA Scholarships to high school seniors to supplement education costs beginning their freshman year.   The scholarship awards are $500.00 each for the first academic year, and will be awarded to full-time or part-time students who enroll in an Arkansas college or university, including junior colleges, community colleges, and vocational or technical colleges.--------Eligibility requirements include: Concentrator or Completer status on at least one Program of Study,  Having a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale, Exhibiting a good citizenship record with no suspensions or expulsions, Attempted or achieved an industry certification (ex CRC, OSHA, MTA), Planning to major in a demand occupation (listed on Discover Arkansas)

Seniors:  If you are a child, grandchild, or great grandchild of an American Legionnaire.  Stepchildren of living Legionnaires may apply if their parent is currently married to the Legion member.  Children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren of deceased Legionnaires are also eligible.  See Mrs. Amber for an application.  Application and documents must be received by March 13, 2020.
