Congratulations to the Mohawk Marching Band for the following awards from the Mid-South Classic.  2nd Division EXCELLENT rated Band, Class A 2nd place Field Commander, Class A 1st place Percussion, Class A 1st place Colorguard, Outstanding Soloist - Class A  Ryker Little, Class A 1st Place Band

Teachers:  Yearbook member Ryleigh Laden will be going around 4th hour all this week taking pictures for spirit week. 

Meeting today (Monday) in the FCS room today during Activity Period for the Coaches of Powderpuff Football: 9th Josh Redd & Will Vancil, 10th Logan White, Hayden Emerson, & Nicky Risner, 11th Mason Dixon, Logan Ralph & Glenn Campbell, and 12th Drake Featherston & Dalton Andrews.

Meeting Tuesday in the FCS room today during Activity Period for those boys 9th-12th who are interested in being a cheerleader for the Powderpuff Game.  

Meeting Wednesday in the FCS room during Activity period for Junior and 8th grade powderpuff players and coaches: Mason Dixon, Logan Ralph and Glenn Campbell.

Please excuse Abby McCluskey, Maddy Wintizer and Madison Arenaz from 1st hour though 5th on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

The Homecoming t-shirts came in early.  We are needed the FCCLA officers to help sort shirts to be delivered 6th hour.  Please excuse: Ashlyn Roberts, Jordon Leggett, Avery Webb, Kaylee Smith, Emma Riddle, Olivia Woolard, Mycha Blascoe, Jamara Ball, & Abby McCluskey. all day today.

Homecoming practice will be today during 3rd period in the New Gym.  All and royalty and escorts need to report to the New Gym at the beginning of 3rd period.

Flu shots will be given at Piggott High School on TOMORROW Tuesday, October 8.  Flu shot consent forms are available in the high school office.

Josten's will return this Wednesday,October 9 to take orders for Jr Rings and Senior Items.  

Seniors:  There will be a representative from BRTC here on Monday, October 7 during activity period in the library.

The College Fair at PHS will be Tuesday, Oct 15 from 9:00-11:00.

The following seniors have not turned in baby pictures for the yearbook. You have until Nov. 4 to get them turned in to Mrs. Natalie.  Megan Burke, Jamara Ball, Lucas Chase, Austyn Crow, Destany Graves, Hayden Jackson, Amber Reed, Haley Shumate, Daniel Spinks, and Taylor Williamson.

Seniors:  Williams Baptist University is offering a Williams Works program.  This is a work initiative starting next fall at Williams Baptist University that will cover the cost of education and give you the opportunity to graduate debt free.  The student needs to apply for admissions and the Williams Works program. The minimum ACT is a 19 and they must have their FAFSA complete by January.

Any Beta member who would like to run for an office needs to see Mrs. Flowers to pick up an application. Applications are due by Wednesday, October 16.

Any Beta member or invitee who has not already paid this year's dues needs to see Mrs. Flowers or Mrs. Coomer by Wednesday, October 16.

Next Friday night is the Homecoming game vs. Walnut Ridge.

Monday Night Football coming soon! Powderpuff Football has been rescheduled for Monday night Nov. 4 at 6:30 at Parker Field. 

Any FBLA member interested in attending the Memphis Grizzlies' Pro Sports Career Day on November 6 should turn in forms and money no later than October 16.

All FBLA members attending Fall Conference in Jonesboro next Thursday, October 10, MUST turn in Signed permission slips by TODAY Friday this week. Teachers:  There is a list in your email of all the FBLA members who will gone next Thursday.

 Matthew Cheshire will be out October 8th and 9th for State Golf.

Seniors:  If you are a child, grandchild, or great grandchild of an American Legionnaire.  Stepchildren of living Legionnaires may apply if their parent is currently married to the Legion member.  Children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren of deceased Legionnaires are also eligible.  See Mrs. Amber for an application.  Application and documents must be received by March 13, 2020.

Seniors:  The Horatio Alger Scholarship is available online at scholars.horatioalger.org - deadline is October 25.  

Student Essay/Speaking Contest – Entry Deadline Oct. 23rd. For the second year, the Arkansas School Boards Association is holding a personal essay/speaking contest where 11th and 12th grade students will have an opportunity to present before an audience of more than 600 school board members and administrators during the ASBA Annual Conference, held December 11-13, 2018 at the Marriott Hotel and Statehouse Convention Center in downtown Little Rock. ESSAY/SPEECH TOPIC: Is TRUST our most valuable currency?  Why or why not? Click here for detailed contest instructions, incentives and rules. The contest deadline is Friday, October 23, 2019.
