Congratulations to the Jr Girls Basketball team for defeating rival Corning last night.

Homecoming Royalty Practice today during activity period in the New Gym.

The following students will be painting faces during 3rd, 4th, and 5th period in the art room on Thursday:  Jill Scudder, Hannah Blades, Madison Bowers, Maddie Vanderkooi, Katelyn Jackson, Alexis Russell, Stefan Gramling, Hannah Smart.

Piggott State Bank is sponsoring the Half-Court Shot Contest during Senior High Girls Basketball games for a chance to win $5000.  Tickets are $1 or 6 for $5. One name will be drawn nightly for a chance to shoot.  Contest ends Feb. 6 or when shot is made.

FBLA members: Today (Wednesday, January 10) is the last day to take care of outstanding balances. Those who owe money received a notice. Please see Mrs. Peters if you have any questions.

FBLA Competitors, don't forget to return your permission slips by Wednesday this week. Those taking objective tests should report to Mrs. Peters's classroom at the beginning of 2nd period on Thursday this week.

There will be a Drama Club meeting in Room 224 to discuss field trips and the spring production on Tuesday, Jan. 16, during activity period. All interested students should attend.

There will be open gym for those playing High School Baseball on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursday from 6:00-7:30 in the Old Gym.

The Basketball Homecoming game will be next Thursday, January 11 vs. Hoxie.

Homecoming royalty and escorts will be dismissed at 11:00 on Thursday.  The Royalty Assembly will be at 1:45 followed by the Pep Rally.

There will be a Homecoming dance in the Middle Gym on Friday (weather permitting).  Admittance is $3 with sodas/water being sold for $1. Wednesday there will be a place to sign up dates that are not students at PHS.

Mrs. Penny Toombs needs the following Mentorship students to come to her room on Monday during activity period: Georgina Bautista, Luke Carpenter, Makenzie Lutz, and Emily Trosper

Those FCCLA members interested in attending the State Leadership meeting at the University of Central Arkansas on Wednesday March 7th must see Mrs. Little.  The registration fee is $25.00 with  $15.00 being returned the day of the trip.  See Mrs. Little by Tuesday, January 15 for more details.

SENIORS: Your senior profile forms are due back to Miss Vernon  (the 12th). Please try to get these back early, since there is a potential of winter weather in the forecast for Friday. Persons with questions may see Miss Vernon in Room 224.

**Seniors:  The Northeast Arkansas Legal Support Professional scholarship application is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  Emphasis is directed toward the prospective legal profession  - but not mandatory.  Applications must be postmarked not later than January 28, 2018.

**Seniors:  If you plan on majoring in education - there is a scholarship application on the website  www.theaaea.org -- click on "Constituent Groups", then "AAFC" and then "AAFC Scholarship"

Students need to see Mrs. Shamala by 1/19 for driver test forms for January.  

Students do not not have to do the AMI packets if they were here during 1st - 3rd period. The next AMI day, however, they will move on to day 2 on the AMI schedule.Remember the students are allowed 5 days to turn in their AMI work. An absence will be recorded if they do not do the work. AMI packet Day 1 work is due on Tuesday.

Seniors:  We are taking a College Day to tour BRTC-Paragould, ASU-Jonesboro and back to ASU-Paragould. The date is pending right now.  Any senior who would like to go may take a college day. If you have already used your day, you may still go but it will be an absence.  We should return by 2:30.

Students attending Basketball Games must stay in the gym unless you are leaving for good or have permission.

Students:  Blankets are not permitted in class.

Students:  Only Basketball Players will get into Basketball games free.  Football and Volleyball players must pay admission. Also Band must pay unless in Pep Band and playing that night.

Students:  The new door locks are now working.  You have one minute after the tardy bell rings before the door locks re-engage.  You may have to walk around to the front doors unless you are walking in later with a teacher.  Please be diligent about getting where you are supposed to be in a timely manner.

Students:  When you arrive at school, you must come into the cafeteria.  Please do not stay in vehicles or walk off campus. Duty teachers will make room for you when you come in the doors.  Do NOT park in the VFW Building Parking Lot or by the Old Gym.

Students: Cell phones may used in the cafeteria ONLY- not in the hall way going to the cafeteria.
