FCA will meet Thursday during Activity Period.

Face painting for homecoming will be a dollar a side during 3rd, 4th, and 5th period on Friday, in the art room.

Friday will be "Hats on for Childhood Cancer Awareness". Stickers will be required to be allowed to wear a hat on both days. Stickers will be sold for $1 in the cafeteria before school and in Mrs. Peters's classroom for those who have athletics in the morning. All money raised will be donated to St. Jude's.

*Congrats to Emilee Seegraves for breaking a school tennis record for most games won in a career (665) and Carrington McDaniel for breaking a school tennis record for most doubles matches win in a career (47).

***Students:  If you plan to take the Driver's Test next Tuesday, you should see Mrs. Shamala today or tomorrow to get your paperwork filled out.

***Homecoming - Friday morning will be the Royalty Assembly during activity period.  Please excuse all royalty and escorts 1st and 2nd period.  The Pep Rally will begin at 1:00 in the new gym. Please excuse the band at 12:45 and 9-12 grade cheerleaders will need to come to the middle gym after 5th hour Friday, September 22 for the pep rally. 7-8 grade cheerleaders will need to be dismissed at 12:20.  9-12 grade cheerleaders will not be in 6th hour.   The band, teams, and float riders will be dismissed at 1:45 to line up for the parade.  The Parade will begin at 2:00.  The Royalty Presentation at the game will begin at 6:00 p.m. and the Homecoming Game vs. Osceola will begin at 7:00 p.m.

The floats will be judged during the parade and winners announced at the game.  Floats will need to be at the VFW building before the pep rally so they will be ready to go as soon as the pep rally is over.

There will not be a homecoming dance this year.

Seniors, your baby pictures for the yearbook are due on Friday, Sept. 29th. Please bring one baby photo in an envelope with your name on it to Miss V. in Room 224 by the end of the day on the 29th. We will not be accepting photos late. Thank you for your assistance!

Cross Country will have a meet at Pocahontas next Tuesday, Sept. 26.  Please excuse at 1:45.

Monday, October 2 is Wear Blue Day.  October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Schools and Organizations across the country join STOMP OutBullying  to increase awareness of the impact of bullying on children of all ages.  

**Seniors going into nursing or another medical field:  UAMS is hosting "A Day in the Life" workshop.  "A Day in the Life of a Nurse" is Wednesday, Dec 6 "A Day in the Life - Variety" is Wednesday, Nov 29 .You must have a 2.75 GPA - travel to Jonesboro is on your own - See Mrs. Amber for an application.  Deadline is November 1.

**SENIORS:  ATU Representative - Tuesday, Sept. 26, U of A representative- Tuesday, Oct. 3, WBC representative -Wednesday, Oct. 4, and College Fair Tuesday, Oct 17.

***Teachers:  This week is the District Fair in Jonesboro starting on Wednesday, Sept. 20.  

***Students:  The new door locks are now working.  You have one minute after the tardy bell rings before the door locks reengage.  You may have to walk around to the front doors unless you are walking in later with a teacher.  Please be diligent about getting where you are supposed to be in a timely manner.

*Beta dues for old members are $10 and need to be paid to Mrs. Flowers or Mrs. Coomer by the end of October. 

*New Beta members need to turn in their $20 dues and letters to Mrs. Flowers or Mrs. Coomer by the end of October. 

*The following Beta elementary workers need to sign in with Ms. Katina by 7:15 A.M. next THURSDAY. Sept. 21: Luke Boyd, Cooper Harris, Willow Lewis, and Alexis Russell.   These students will sign in at the office with Mrs. Shamala upon arriving at school.

Students interested in joining Senior High FBLA should see Mrs. Peters. Dues are $10 and must be paid by Friday, September 22 if you wish to attend Fall Conference in Jonesboro. 

Seniors:  There will be a Razorback Connections night on October 18 6:00 at the Jonesboro Hilton Garden Inn, Jonesboro.  A representative from U of A will be there to discuss scholarships, the admissions process, and answer questions.  See Ms. Rachel Dowdy or Mrs. Amber to register.

The Mohawk football brotherhood is looking for 2 people interested in the audio visual area. We need 2 good individuals who can be at practices and games to film from the booth and from the end zones. The filmmakers will work directly under Coach Hearn. They need to be well rounded in the technology of the HD cameras. If interested please contact Coach Shawn Hearn.

Seniors:  The Horatio Alger Scholarship application is available online at scholars.horatioalger.org  - the eligibility criteria is online also. Deadline is October25, 2017.

**SENIORS:  ASU representative- Monday, Sept. 18, ATU Representative - Tuesday, Sept. 26, U of A representative- Tuesday, Oct. 3, WBC representative -Wednesday, Oct. 4, and College Fair Tuesday, Oct 17.

FBLA will sell cookies at the beginning of 7th period  on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays to classrooms. Cookies are still $.75 each. We may not make it to every class every time we sell, but will alternate to make sure we get to every class at least once each week

It's time to Join FCCLA! Students in grades 9-12 interested in joining FCCLA are to see Mrs. Little. 

Juniors, You must pay your class dues ASAP.  See your CAPS advisor for what you owe.  November 1, 2017 is the deadline, your dues must be paid or arrangements made by this date. 

 Josten's will be her Wednesday, October 11 at 9:00 for Senior Graduation Supply and Junior Ring presentations.  They will return the next Wednesday, October 18 to take the Jr. and Sr. orders. 

Students:  When you arrive at school, you must come into the cafeteria.  Please do not stay in vehicles or walk off campus. Duty teachers will make room for you when you come in the doors. 

Students:  Do NOT park in the VFW Building Parking Lot or by the Old Gym.

Teachers:  Flu Shots will be given at PHS  on November 29, 2017.
