Students in 9th - 11th grades see Mrs. Amber if you need to sign up for summer school for credit recovery.

Lifeguard applications for Summer 2019 are available at the Piggott Community Center today through Friday, March 29.

Farm Sale List:  The list for the students that will be out for the FFA Annual Farm Sale has been sent to your email.

Seniors:  The Horatio Alger Association Career & Technical Scholarship is available online at application.horatioalger.org  - first priority deadline is June15, 2019.

Seniors:  Textbook Brokers in Searcy has an online application for textbook scholarships.  These are chosen at random.  Deadline is May 31, 2019.  www.searcybooks.com  Schools served  by Textbook Brokers in Searcy are:  Harding, ASU Searcy, ASU Beebe, ASU Heber Springs.

Seniors:  Textbook Brokers in Conway.is offering a chance to win a textbook scholarship for  high school students who are attending UCA, CBC or UACCM in Fall 2019.  There  will be  2 winners chosen at UCA and UACCM then one winner for CBC. They will call and email the winners once they have been selected. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. The deadline for prom sign ups is due on this Friday March 29th. You can see Mrs. Coomer to sign up. Juniors must pay their dues on Friday as well. 

There will be a meeting in the band room during activity period for any band member interested in trying out for flag line on Friday.

Jr. Lady Mohawks will have softball practice Friday at 5.

Senior PACE students need to meet in Ms. Penny's room Thursday during activity period. 

Softball will play Manila at home on Thursday.  Please excuse the softball team at 2:30. There will be a Jr High Track meet at GCT on Thursday.  Dismissal time is 1:30.

Prom Dress forms are due by this Friday, March 29.  Dates of PHS students must also sign a form agreeing to follow PHS Prom Dress Code Requirements. 

Any Senior High or Middle Level FBLA member interested in serving at the Emmanuel Baptist Church pancake breakfast should see Mrs. Peters by this Friday to sign up.

TEACHERS: There will be a mandatory testing meeting on April 3 after school.

Seniors:  The Clay Conservation District Agriculture scholarship application is in Mrs. Amber's office.  Deadline is April 15 - turn in to Mrs. Amber

Seniors:  The Clay County Arts Council / Fine Arts Scholarship Application is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  Deadline is April 10 - turn in to Mrs. Amber. Even if your nominee does not intend to MAJOR or MINOR in any of the arts, IF HE/SHE IS intending to return to Clay County and work even in a volunteer role to further the arts, that would be important.

Junior and Seniors that plan on going to after prom must to be signed up by March 29th. The sign-up sheet is in the office.  This includes anyone that they plan on bringing to the after prom.  Please pick-up contracts in the office.  These are due by the end of the day FRIDAY.

David's Bridal has sent coupons for our girls to use on prom dresses.  See Mrs. Amber to get a coupon.

FBLA Middle Level members who sold Little Caesars pizzas MUST pick up your pizza kits this Wednesday afternoon between 2:30-5:00 in the cafeteria. If you sold more than 3 kits please do not plan to take them on the bus after school!

***Black River Technical College (BRTC) Pocahontas is having a Nursing Assistant class. This class will run from May 29-June 20th and is an evening class from 3:15-10:15 p.m. There will 4 Clinical days.  This class will train you to qualify for the Arkansas State CNA Exam. This program is open to students age 16 and up.  Orientation will be on April 29th at 4 pm and is required. The Junior Class is selling t-shirts to raise money for After Prom activities. We will have two options in sport gray with black and red cardinal ink. Youth sizes will also be available. T-shirts will cost 15 dollars. Please make checks payable to “PHS Class of 2020”. Deadline for order is March 29. Order forms are in the office.

Clay County Junior Fair Board Applications are in the office.  Application due date is April 8. Application forms are in the office.

--We now have our Grab'n'Go cart set up in the high school cafeteria. Any student that didn't get breakfast will have a chance to eat again during the Activity period. It will be quick foods not hot foods. You must stay in the cafeteria with the food.

Any Senior High FBLA member wanting to attend Teen Truth Live at Six Flags on Thursday, May 9 should bring $30 to Mrs. Peters no later than Friday, April 5. You must have participated in the fundraiser or made a donation to be eligible to attend.

Seniors:  The Piggott Elementary Faculty Scholarship is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  They must be turned in to Mrs. Amber by Friday, April 5. 

SENIORS:  The Local Scholarship applications are on the website under the MENU: Senior Info/Scholarships.  Deadline for local scholarship application is Friday, April 5, 2019Gaylon Lawrence Memorial Scholarship application is also in this folder. Deadline for GL Scholarship is May 1, 2019. All of these are fillable scholarship applications that can be completed and printed.

Seniors pursuing a degree in animal science or agriculture - Mrs. Amber has the Clay County Cattleman's Association scholarship application in her office.  Deadline is April 1, 2019

Seniors:  The Farm Bureau scholarship application is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  You must have at least a 2.5 GPA and be a child or grandchild of an active Clay County Farm Bureau member.  Preference goes toward students majoring in agriculture or the medical field but it isn't a requirement.  Deadline is April 15, 2019

Seniors:  The Reverend Charlie E. and Cinderella S. Taylor Sr. Foundation scholarship application is available at http://www.cctaylorfoundation.org/application.html Deadline is March 31, 2019

Seniors:  MFA scholarship application is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  Deadline is March 15, 2019.  Consideration goes to applicants furthering their education related to agriculture or other fields of study that benefit rural life.

SENIORS:  The Arkansas School Plant Management Association scholarship application is for any graduating senior planning to attend a college/university, vocational-technical or trade school who has at least a 3.0 GPA and at least a 19 on the ACT.  You must complete the application, essay, and 2 recommendation letters. See Mrs. Amber, Mrs. Conley, or Ms. Rachel for more information. Deadline is April 1.

Seniors:  The Hannah Blankenship Memorial Scholarship is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  This scholarship will be awarded to a young woman pursuing an agricultural field of study.  Applications must be submitted by April 1.

Applications for the Arkansas Rural Education Scholarship for School employee's child is available.  Due date is  April 5, 2019.  See Mrs. Amber or Mrs. Conley for application.

Seniors:  The Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry scholarship application is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  You must have a "B" average to apply.  The deadline to receive applications is April 1, 2019

SENIORS: Jostens has established a scholarship program to assist high school seniors who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student's choice.
