FCCLA will be sponsoring a costume contest here at school on the day of Halloween (Wednesday, Oct. 31).   You must pay a $1.00 to enter into the costume contest.  You need to check in at the cafeteria Wednesday morning early enough to get to 1st hour on time.   Once paid you will receive a ribbon to indicate you have paid. There will prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. --Teachers who dress up and pay a $1.00 will be entered into the teacher costume contest and prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

All students can wear costumes on Wednesday.  No glitter on costumes. Students who wear hats only must pay $1.

All students and teachers who are wearing costumes and are participating in the Best Costume Contest meet in the FCS room during activity period for judging.  If you did not pay earlier you may pay when you get there.

Sr High Boys Basketball Players who are not participating in the costume contest will meet in the New Gym during activity period today.

Please excuse the Sr (12th Grade) Football Players today from 8:30 till 11:00 to go to the Brad Headstart.

Mrs. Cheng needs Spanish club shirt designs submitted to her by this week. 

Pep Rally and senior recognition with be Thursday during activity period. Please excuse the Sr. Cheerleaders at 9:10.

Spanish club is selling Mexican hot chocolate $2 and chocolate skulls $1. These will be distributed on during 7th period on Friday , November 2nd and will need order forms by Thursday, November 1st. Please order with your 7th period teacher all except Seniors order with your 5th hour teacher.  

Registration Deadline for the Dec. 8 ACT that will be given at PHS is this Friday, Nov. 2.  If you need help with the registration please see Miss Rachel Dowdy.

Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts will have a representative here on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 9:25 for 8th, 9th, & 10th graders interested in hearing about their school.  Let Mrs. Amber know if you would like to go to the presentation.

**The ASVAB test (for all juniors) is scheduled for next Wednesday Nov. 7.

FBLA members attending the Grizzlies game will meet in the library during activity period on Friday, Nov. 2.

TEACHERS: A list of FBLA members who will be attending the Memphis Grizzlies Pro Sports Career Day on Wednesday, November 7 has been sent to your email.. These students will be dismissed at 11:00 a.m. through the rest of the day.

The following students will be attending the FBLA National Fall Leadership Conference in Charlotte, NC on November 14-15: Matthew Cheshire, Elise Gossett, Rylea Harmon, Micha Harrell, Tyson Peters, Madison Rahn, Carlie Vancil

"DRAMA CLUB MEMBERS:  If you have not returned your slip from the letter distributed at the last meeting, tickets will not be ordered for you to attend trips. We will be attending  Little Shop of Horrors the following evening.  Miss Vernon will be ordering Little Shop tickets soon. They are $15. There is room for two or three more people to join in on this trip.  At this point five tickets for Les Mis have not been claimed. They will be sold on a first come first served basis. They are $37.25."

Art Club members need to pay their dues by October 31st.

Seniors:  Deadline for Senior Ads for the Yearbook online is November 16.

FCCLA is sponsoring a Powderpuff Volleyball Game. The dates are this Friday, November 2 and the Battle of the Sexes will be next Monday, November 5. Games still starting at 6:00.  Participants who have not paid may see Mrs. Little to pay the $3.00.Also, consent forms are ready for pick up and were due back by Thursday, Oct. 25.

FBLA dues are $10 and can be paid to Mrs. Peters through the end of October. FBLA T-shirts may be ordered until the last day to pay dues, which is October 31. Dues are $10.

Seniors:  The Hagan Scholarship is available online.  Application deadline is November 15, 2018.  Application and eligibility requirements are online at www.hsfmo.org

Seniors:  American Legion scholarship application is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  Must be child, grandchild, or great grandchild of American Legionnaire.  Application must be received at their department on or before March 12, 2019.

SENIORS: Seven License2HOWL Scholarships are available for the 2018-19 academic year for incoming freshmen at Arkansas State University. These scholarships are valued at $5,000 for the year and are renewable for recipients who continue to meet criteria and re-apply.Beginning this year, we will be utilizing the application process for incoming freshmen through the University’s privately funded scholarship process. The application link will be available from December 2, 2018 - February 1, 2019. 

L2H scholarships are for Arkansas residents who will be full-time freshmen on the Jonesboro campus, have a minimum ACT score of 23 and a high school GPA of 3.25 or above. Also, please note the acceptable GPA has changed from 3.5 to 3.25 in an effort to accommodate more students, giving them the opportunity to receive one of these awards. The selection committee will evaluate demonstrated leadership qualities and student involvement.
