Piggott FFA Chapter Celebrates 2018 National FFA Week, Feb. 19- March 2 2018


The Piggott FFA Chapter in Piggott, AR will celebrate National FFA Week, Feb. 19-March 2, 2018. This FFA Week embraces more than 90 years of FFA traditions while looking forward to the organization’s future. More than 653,000 members will participate in National FFA Week activities at local, state, and national levels.
These members have a passion for agriculture.

Designated a national week in 1947, the week of George Washington’s birthday, National FFA Week runs from Saturday to Saturday and gives FFA members an opportunity to educate the public about agriculture. During the week, chapters conduct a variety of activities to help others in their school and community to learn about FFA and agricultural education.

 The Piggott FFA Chapter will celebrate National FFA Week by participating in
the following activities:
Monday 2/19- NO School

Tuesday 2/20- ASU Marked Tree Wiring Competition
*The following students will compete in the ASU Marked Tree Electrical Wiring Competition: John Jones, Cory Fuller, Cade Harrell, Elijah Bellers, and Alex Gibson. They will be leaving from the AG Shop at 7:00 am.

Wednesday 2/21- Greenhand Day
*All FFA members are going to report to the NEW GYM during Activity Period. We will hand out our Greenhand and Chapter Farmer Degrees at this time.

Thursday 2/22- NEA Weld-a-Thon
* The following students will be attending to compete in the Weld-a-Thon: Quentin Reeves,Alex Gibson, Jordan Simpson

Friday 2/23- Wild Hog CDE Contest in Fayetteville
*The FFA Land judging CDE team will be competing at the contest in Fayetteville, AR. Land team is the following: Cooper Harris, Matthew Cheshire, Dalton James and Ben Holcomb.

Monday 2/26- FFA T-Shirt Day
*FFA Members are encouraged to wear their chapter t-shirts.

Tuesday 2/27- FFA Member Hat Day
*FFA Members and students will be able to wear a hat with a donation of a dollar to go to the Hannah Blankenship Scholarship Fund.

Wednesday 2/28- ASU Beebe CDE Contest
*The FFA Land CDE team will be competing at the contest in Beebe, AR. Land team: Cooper Harris, Matthew Cheshire, Dalton James and Ben Holcomb.

Thursday 3/1- FFA Member Lunch Cookout
*FFA members will be served hamburgers and hot dogs in the AG Room during lunch time.

Friday 3/2- Teacher/Faculty Appreciation Pancake Breakfast
*Breakfast will be served to the teachers and FFA members in the AG Shop at 7:30 am.  Members should come early to the AG shop to prepare and cook the breakfast. Bring your own griddles and spatulas. Pancake mix will be provided.
