This is National School Counseling Week! Day 2 - "Your Aspirations are your Possibilities" See Mrs. Conley or Mrs. Amber if you ever want to chat about your aspirations.

Congratulations to the Jr High Girls Basketball team for defeating Manila last night and advancing to the Semi-finals on Thursday night at 4:00 vs. Hoxie. Dismissal  for junior high girls will be 1:30

There will be no softball practice on Thursday. Athletes not having a physical must get their physicals done immediately. 

Wednesday the 7th is the last day to order Mohawk Apparel from the Team Shop from the Track Team! Order and pay online, shop closes at midnight!

Any seniors or juniors who have not signed up for Grand March or Second walkout need to do so before Feb. 9th. See Mr. Johnson to sign up.

There will be a Junior Class Meeting in the library on Tuesday, Feb. 6 during activity period for all Juniors who have paid their dues and plan to attend Prom.

TEACHERS:  Remember your grades must be posted by the end of the day on TODAY.  Progress Reports go out on Thursday this week.

 Senior Night is Tuesday night (TONIGHT) at 5:30  vs. Corning.

There will be an FCM meeting on Wednesday, Feb 7 during activity period in the cafeteria.

 The yearbook staff needs to take a golf team photo during third hour on Tuesday, February 6. Please wear your golf shirts. We will take the photo in the new gym by the mats. Thank you. 

The 1st Annual Miss Mohawk Beauty Pageant hosted by the Piggott Mohawk Band Boosters will be on February 24, 2018 in the middle gym. In order to participate in the Miss Northeast Arkansas Pageant you will need to participate and place in the top five in your category in the Miss Mohawk Pageant. Registration packets can be picked up in the high school office or Mr. Wortham in the band room.

Today's auditions have been postponed to Thursday February 8th

The following students will be attending the 2018 ASBA Honor Band Auditions,Thursday February 8, 2018. They will be missing 2nd-8th periods. Any ML FBLA member interested in selling raffle tickets at Tuesday night’s basketball game should sign up with Mrs. Veal or Coach Lancaster no later than noon on Tuesday Feb. 6 (TODAY). All FBLA members: pizza orders are due with money.

PACE is selling Valentine's Day gifts. Orders forms are available in the office and posted in the hallways.

There is a sign up sheet in Mrs. Peters’s classroom for ML FBLA members interested in setting up/decorating for the Daddy/Daughter dance. Spots are limited and must be filled by the end of the day Tuesday.

The AMMC Beauty Pageant will be held Saturday, March 10th at the GCT High School.  If  you are interested  - see Mrs. Amber for a registration form.  Early bird deadline is Feb 23 Registration Deadline is March 6 @ noon

FCCLA will start selling balloons for Valentines Day during 1st and 2nd lunch.  Please stop at the table and see what we have or see Mrs. Little at activity period or  between classes.  Sales start Monday Feb. 5 and run thru Feb. 14th.

**The following seniors have not submitted profiles to Miss Vernon. These were due on JANUARY 13th. If you do not get a profile turned in by , you will not have profile info in the yearbook, or an article in the Clay County Times-Democrat’s graduation section! The Area I Special Olympics Basketball Competition will be Friday, February 23. Please put this on your calendars.

**FCCLA has chosen 2 boys from each grade to run for Sadie Hawkins Beau for their grade.  Each boy and a girl of their choose will be carrying buckets for donations.  The boy with the most money will become the beau.  Seniors have 4 boys John Jones, Quentin Reeves, Devin Riley, and Carrington McDaniel. One Senior will be crowned king and one senior beau.  All proceeds will be donated to the Hannah Blankenship Memorial Scholarship. Support your faviorite guy. The Sadie Hawkins Assembly will be February 15.

***ALL Senior High FBLA members need to come by Mrs. Peters's classroom and sign up for a community service project committee by Wednesday, February 7.

Piggott State Bank is sponsoring the Half-Court Shot Contest during Senior High Girls Basketball games for a chance to win $5000.  Tickets are $1 or 6 for $5. One name will be drawn nightly for a chance to shoot.  Contest ends Feb. 6 or when shot is made.

There will be open gym for those playing High School Baseball on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursday from 6:00-7:30 in the Old Gym.

***Seniors:  RCE Vocational Scholarship application is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  This is for students going to Vo Tech or a Trade school.  The application makes you eligible for one of two scholarships - $500/$2500.  Deadline is March 28, 2018.

Seniors:  Farm Credit scholarship application is available online at farmcreditmidsouth.com/community/scholarships - deadline is March 8, 2018.  You must be sponsored by a Farm Credit Midsouth customer.

Seniors: If you are of documentable Native American descent from a federally recognized tribe - see Mrs. Amber for scholarship application.  Documentation required.  Deadline is April 16, 2018

Seniors:  We are taking a College Day to tour BRTC-Paragould, ASU-Jonesboro and back to ASU-Paragould. The date is pending right now.  Any senior who would like to go may take a college day. If you have already used your day, you may still go but it will be an absence.  We should return by 2:30.

Seniors:  Scholarship opportunity at www.theafoundation.org/scholarships. This is for any your artist, poet, fashion designer, performer, or filmmaker. You do not have to major in an art-related field.  This is good for any 2-yr or 4-yr college in AR.

Online orders may be paid with a debit or credit card, but be aware they will have 10% sales tax collected. Students attending Basketball Games must stay in the gym unless you are leaving for good or have permission.

Students:  Blankets are not permitted in class.

Students:  Only Basketball Players will get into Basketball games free.  Football and Volleyball players must pay admission. Also Band must pay unless in Pep Band and playing that night.

Students:  The new door locks are now working.  You have one minute after the tardy bell rings before the door locks re-engage.  You may have to walk around to the front doors unless you are walking in later with a teacher.  Please be diligent about getting where you are supposed to be in a timely manner.

Students:  When you arrive at school, you must come into the cafeteria.  Please do not stay in vehicles or walk off campus. Duty teachers will make room for you when you come in the doors.  Do NOT park in the VFW Building Parking Lot or by the Old Gym.

Students: Cell phones may used in the cafeteria ONLY- not in the hall way going to the cafeteria.
