Monday, October 2 is Wear Blue Day.  October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Schools and Organizations across the country join STOMP OutBullying  to increase awareness of the impact of bullying on children of all ages.  

**SENIORS:   U of A representative- Tuesday, Oct. 3, WBC representative -Wednesday, Oct. 4, and the College Fair will be Tuesday, Oct 17 12:30-2:00.

Students: Cell phones may used in the cafeteria ONLY- not in the hall way going to the cafeteria.

Tennis teams will be playing at home today.  The teams will be "Serving against Cancer". Players will be wearing Pink and playing for someone diagnosed with cancer.

Congratulations to the Jr. High Volleyball Team for defeating Walnut Ridge on Saturday.  Volleyball teams will be dismissed at 2:30 on Tuesday.

Congratulations to the PRIDE of Clay County Marching Mohawk Band.

Last Weekend they competed at Arlington Tennessee and was awarded:

FBLA will be collecting new pairs of socks throughout the month of October. All socks donated will be given to Piggott Elementary for them to use as needed. We are asking students to turn in their donated socks to their CAPS advisers as a way for us to keep up with the group that collects the most. I will collect them from you throughout the month so we can keep a running total. Winning CAPS group will get a donut party on our next available food day!

 Josten's will be her Wednesday, October 11 at 9:00 for Senior Graduation Supply and Junior Ring presentations.  They will return the next Wednesday, October 18 to take the Jr. and Sr. orders. 

Make-up pictures will be taken on Thursday, Oct. 12th

A representative from The Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts will be here the morning of October 19th to meet with Freshmen and Sophomores interested.

There will be a FCCLA meeting for all paid members on Monday, Oct. 2 in the FCS room.

All 12th Grade Athletes(Football, Volleyball, Band, Tennis, Golf, Cheerleaders) need to meet in the Library during activity period on Monday, October 2.

Please excuse the chess team to compete in Walnut Ridge this Monday, Oct 2nd. They will be out all day. Austin Johnson, Louis Lin, Dustin McCarty, Trey Cavaness, Brent Gossett, Colton Haywood, Reece Dotson, Aden Baggett, Shawn-Hudson Seegraves, and Jake Toombs.

**Seniors going into nursing or another medical field:  UAMS is hosting "A Day in the Life" workshop.  "A Day in the Life of a Nurse" is Wednesday, Dec 6 "A Day in the Life - Variety" is Wednesday, Nov 29 .You must have a 2.75 GPA - travel to Jonesboro is on your own - See Mrs. Amber for an application.  Deadline is November 1.

*Seniors:  There will be a Razorback Connections night on October 18 @ 6:00 at the Jonesboro Hilton Garden Inn, Jonesboro.  A representative from U of A will be there to discuss scholarships, the admissions process, and answer questions.  See Ms. Rachel Dowdy or Mrs. Amber to register.

Seniors:  The Horatio Alger Scholarship application is available online at scholars.horatioalger.org  - the eligibility criteria is online also. Deadline is October25, 2017.

Beta dues for old members are $10 and need to be paid and *New Beta members need to turn in their $20 dues and letters to Mrs. Flowers or Mrs. Coomer by the end of October. 

It's time to Join FCCLA! Students in grades 9-12 interested in joining FCCLA are to see Mrs. Little. 

Juniors, You must pay your class dues ASAP.  See your CAPS advisor for what you owe.  November 1, 2017 is the deadline, your dues must be paid or arrangements made by this date. 

FBLA will sell cookies at the beginning of 7th period  on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays to classrooms. Cookies are still $.75 each. We may not make it to every class every time we sell, but will alternate to make sure we get to every class at least once each week. 

Students:  The new door locks are now working.  You have one minute after the tardy bell rings before the door locks re-engage.  You may have to walk around to the front doors unless you are walking in later with a teacher.  Please be diligent about getting where you are supposed to be in a timely manner.

Students:  When you arrive at school, you must come into the cafeteria.  Please do not stay in vehicles or walk off campus. Duty teachers will make room for you when you come in the doors. 

Students:  Do NOT park in the VFW Building Parking Lot or by the Old Gym.

Teachers:  Flu Shots will be given at PHS  on November 29, 2017.
