**This week is Spirit Week:  Monday - Pajama Day, Tuesday - Tacky Tourist Day, Wednesday - Favorite Holiday Dress up Day, Thursday - Throwback Thursday--Dress like favorite decade, Friday - Mohawk Pride Day -wear red and black

*Congrats to Sr Football for defeating Rector. 

**Congratulations to the PRIDE of Clay County Marching Mohawk Band: They traveled the Union City Tennessee this past Saturday and competed in the Union City Invitational. The Mohawk Band won 2nd Place in Class AA, Best in Class Visual Performance, and Best in Class General Effect.

**JR. Class meeting in the cafeteria during activity period on Monday for After Prom fundraising discussion.

***Tonight the Volleyball teams play Hoxie here.  We are going to "Black Out the Gym" beginning at 4:30.  There will be a drawing for $10.  To have a chance to win, you must wear Black and arrive at the game before 6:00 p.m.  Wear black tonight and help us Black Out Hoxie!!

Friday will be "Hats on for Childhood Cancer Awareness". Stickers will be required to be allowed to wear a hat on both days. Stickers will be sold for $1 in the cafeteria before school and in Mrs. Peters's classroom for those who have athletics in the morning. All money raised will be donated to St. Jude's.

**Seniors going into nursing or another medical field:  UAMS is hosting "A Day in the Life" workshop.  "A Day in the Life of a Nurse" is Wednesday, Dec 6 "A Day in the Life - Variety" is Wednesday, Nov 29 .You must have a 2.75 GPA - travel to Jonesboro is on your own - See Mrs. Amber for an application.  Deadline is November 1.

**SENIORS:  ASU representative- Monday, Sept. 18, ATU Representative - Tuesday, Sept. 26, U of A representative- Tuesday, Oct. 3, WBC representative -Wednesday, Oct. 4, and College Fair Tuesday, Oct 17.

***Teachers:  This week is the District Fair in Jonesboro starting on Wednesday, Sept. 20.  

***Homecoming royalty and escorts will practice Tuesday, Sept 19 during activity period in the new gym.

The Junior Class will be working on their float in the Armory this year.

Freshmen class:  Whoever volunteered a trailer should see Mr. Danny Baldwin today.  We will begin working on Tuesday in the Maintenance Shop.

***Students:  The new door locks are now working.  You have one minute after the tardy bell rings before the door locks reengage.  You may have to walk around to the front doors unless you are walking in later with a teacher.  Please be diligent about getting where you are supposed to be in a timely manner.

*Beta dues for old members are $10 and need to be paid to Mrs. Flowers or Mrs. Coomer by the end of October. 

*New Beta members need to turn in their $20 dues and letters to Mrs. Flowers or Mrs. Coomer by the end of October. 

*The following Beta elementary workers need to sign in with Ms. Katina by 7:15 A.M. next THURSDAY. Sept. 21: Luke Boyd, Cooper Harris, Willow Lewis, and Alexis Russell.   These students will sign in at the office upon arriving at school.

The 2017 Mohawk - Yearbooks are here. Miss Vernon will be here next week to deliver those who did not get theirs on Wednesday.

Students interested in joining Senior High FBLA should see Mrs. Peters. Dues are $10 and must be paid by September 22 if you wish to attend Fall Conference in Jonesboro. 

Seniors:  There will be a Razorback Connections night on October 18 6:00 at the Jonesboro Hilton Garden Inn, Jonesboro.  A representative from U of A will be there to discuss scholarships, the admissions process, and answer questions.  See Ms. Rachel Dowdy or Mrs. Amber to register.

The Mohawk football brotherhood is looking for 2 people interested in the audio visual area. We need 2 good individuals who can be at practices and games to film from the booth and from the end zones. The filmmakers will work directly under Coach Hearn. They need to be well rounded in the technology of the HD cameras. If interested please contact Coach Shawn Hearn.

**FCM will meet this Wednesday, Sept. 20 to discuss plans for See You At The Pole.

*Softball meeting on next Tuesday, Sept 26 during activity period.

Seniors:  The AES scholarship deadline is October 6, 2017 Information and application is available at  http://www.aesengineers.com/sc...

Seniors:  The Horatio Alger Scholarship application is available online at scholars.horatioalger.org  - the eligibility criteria is online also. Deadline is October25, 2017.

For students who are 16 or older,  Sonic has left some cards in the office for you if you would like to apply for the new Sonic here in Piggott. 

FBLA will sell cookies at the beginning of 7th period  on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays to classrooms. Cookies are still $.75 each. We may not make it to every class every time we sell, but will alternate to make sure we get to every class at least once each week

It's time to Join FCCLA! Students in grades 9-12 interested in joining FCCLA are to see Mrs. Little. 

Juniors, You must pay your class dues ASAP.  See your CAPS advisor for what you owe.  November 1, 2017 is the deadline, your dues must be paid or arrangements made by this date. 

 Josten's will be her Wednesday, October 11 at 9:00 for Senior Graduation Supply and Junior Ring presentations.  They will return the next Wednesday, October 18 to take the Jr. and Sr. orders.

There have been several backpacks and lunch bags/boxes turned into the office. Please see Mrs. Shamala if you have lost or misplaced yours. 

Students:  When you arrive at school, you must come into the cafeteria.  Please do not stay in vehicles or walk off campus. Duty teachers will make room for you when you come in the doors. 

Students:  Do NOT park in the VFW Building Parking Lot or by the Old Gym.
