NOTICE: Starting Friday, Feb. 21, the buses will pick up students behind the New Gym after school.

All 7-8 grade FBLA members need to meet in the library during activity period this Wednesday. The Middle Level Spring Trip will be discussed.

DRAMA CLUB:  The other half of the ticket money for the field trip will be due Wednesday, Feb. 26th. Trip is on Thursday, Feb 27.You will need money for lunch that day (approximately $20 should do it) and any souvenirs you want to buy. 

Please excuse the following students to attend Drama Club’s field trip to Aladdin at the Orpheum from second hour through the end of the day on Thursday, Feb. 27. We will be leaving at 8:45 a.m. from the new gym parking lot. NOTE: These students should be in first hour. ---They should report to the bus in the new gym parking lot at the end of first hour :Devin Beck, Jarika Edwards, Cody Holifield, Dustin McCarty, Gage Parks, Destiny Potter, Charlie Turner, Madison Underwood, Grace Williams

Senior Graduation items will be handed out on March 4 to individuals who have a $0.00 balance. Payments WILL NOT be taken that day. You may make payments online at Jostens.com or call 1-800 Jostens (567-8967). If you have any questions you can contact Mrs. Natalie.   

SENIORS planning on going on the Senior Trip on May 8 need to sign the sheet on the Office counter as soon as possible.

Senior Girls:  The Alpha Delta Kappa organization for female educators is giving a scholarship of $750 to a high school female who is planning to attend college to receive a degree in education with the desire of becoming a teacher.  All applications need to be received no later than March 31, 2019 See Mrs. Amber or Mrs. Conley for applications. 

It is time to register for the following concurrent classes for fall 2020:You must have qualifying ACT or ACT Aspire scores. If you missed the meeting on Monday and are interested, see Mrs. Amber as soon as possible. If you are not sure if you have the scores or if you do not have the qualifying ACT or ACT Aspire scores, see Mrs. Amber about information on taking the Accuplacer test.--  Comp I/II --Beginning Spanish I/II --Experiencing Art-- Public Speaking --US History-- World History

The Miss Mohawk Pageant is this Saturday,February 29.  

Pre-Festival Concert in the Middle Gym on Sunday, March 1st at 2pm and will feature only our High School Symphonic Band.  We will have three judges at this event, writing comments about our performance and how we can improve going into our annual ASBOA Region V Concert & Sight-reading Assessment Festival at Jonesboro High School.  The concert should conclude by 2:30pm.  

The performance date for our Region Assessment will either be March 12th or March 13th - Information will be sent out as soon as the full schedule is known.

Prom Food Committee will meet on Thursday during activity period in Mrs. Conley's room.

All 8th and 10th graders will have their BMI screening and 8th grade, their scoliosis screening on Tuesday, March 3rd in the library starting around 9 am. 

eSports will meet after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Computer Lab.

Next ACT Test:  April 4.  The deadline for registration without late fees is February 28.  This test will not be given at PHS.  Next PHS ACT is June 13. Registration deadline for the June 13 test is May 8.

The 2nd Annual Spend a Day with a Judge contest is open for all Arkansas high school students.To enter, the students will either write an essay or draw a courtroom drawing (at the mock trial competition).  Entry forms for BOTH will be sent to spendadaywithajudge@gmail.com. BRTC MASH summer program: This is a 2 week camp for 10th and 11th graders interested in health careers.  The camp dates are June 8 -18 and camps are offered at two locations - Jonesboro and Pocahontas.  See Mrs. Amber for an application.  Deadline is April 3. 

***Juniors:  If you are planning on participating in Prom this year, you must pay your dues by next Friday, February 28. Only Juniors with at least $40 dues paid will be able to vote for prom themes and participate on committees.

LOST AND FOUND: There are several items that have been turned in to the office. There are also boxes under the bleachers in the New Gym for anything left in that gym or the locker rooms.  If you are missing a jacket or other item, please check in the office ASAP.

MICROWAVES IN THE CAFETERIA - Students please wipe out the microwaves in the cafeteria after using.  This is not the cafeteria workers responsibility.  If you use the microwaves, please help us to be able to keep them by doing your part. Thank you.

****Seniors:  The MFA scholarship application is available in Mrs. Amber's office.  The committee will consider scholastic progress, citizenship, extracurricular activities, educational plans, and financial need.  Deadline is March 13, 2020.  Turn in applications to Mrs. Amber.

Seniors:  Mrs. Amber has scholarship applications for the Arkansas Academy of Hair Design.  The deadline is March 30, 2020.  They have schools located in Paragould  and Jonesboro.  Cosmetology is offered at both campuses.  Esthetics and Nail Tech programs are offered at the Jonesboro campus.

Seniors:  The 2020-2021 ASPMA Scholarship Application is available now. All applications must be postmarked on or before April 1st, 2020.  Any graduating high school senior planning to attend a College/University, Vocational-Technical, or Trade School is eligible to apply. See Mrs. Amber or Mrs. Conley for an application or link. 

Seniors: --- see Mrs. Amber for a link to the application---The Arkansas Association of Career and Technical Education Administrators (AACTEA) is offering two AACTEA Scholarships to high school seniors to supplement education costs beginning their freshman year.   The scholarship awards are $500.00 each for the first academic year, and will be awarded to full-time or part-time students who enroll in an Arkansas college or university, including junior colleges, community colleges, and vocational or technical colleges.--------Eligibility requirements include: Concentrator or Completer status on at least one Program of Study,  Having a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale, Exhibiting a good citizenship record with no suspensions or expulsions, Attempted or achieved an industry certification (ex CRC, OSHA, MTA), Planning to major in a demand occupation (listed on Discover Arkansas)

Seniors:  If you are a child, grandchild, or great grandchild of an American Legionnaire.  Stepchildren of living Legionnaires may apply if their parent is currently married to the Legion member.  Children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren of deceased Legionnaires are also eligible.  See Mrs. Amber for an application.  Application and documents must be received by March 13, 2020.
