PHS FBLA is selling tickets for a smoked ham raffle. Tickets are $5 each. Two tickets will be drawn for one ham each on TODAY, THURSDAY at the Junior High football game. You do not need to be present to win. You may purchase a ticket from any FBLA member, Mrs. Stacey Peters, or in the elementary school office. All proceeds will be donated to Hope Burns and her family as they cope with the loss of their home and belongings. Hams donated by Hickory Hill Farms.

FCCLA members who are interested in helping with the Powderpuff Game need to sign up.  See an FCCLA Officer or come by Mrs. Little's room.  Special incentive  for those who will work on the clean-up crew.

CANCELLED due to sound system complications and floor issues:  There will be a Jr. High Pep Rally TODAY, Thursday, Oct. 31 during activity period in the Middle Gym.  ONLY 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students will attend.  Please excuse the Jr. High Cheerleaders at 9:15.

It's not too late to join FBLA! Students have until TODAY, October 31 to pay the $15 dues.

FBLA members who sold smoked ham raffle tickets should turn in all money and tickets to Mrs. Peters by this afternoon (Thursday).

FCCLA is sponsoring Costume Day TODAY, Thursday for Halloween. Those who plan to wear a costume will need to pay $1.00 during 2nd period and it must be school appropriate. There will be a best costume contest for those who wish to participate. We are encouraging teachers to join in the fun! The judging will be at 10:30 in the FCS room.Separate prizes for teachers and students.  Students -1st place is $10, 2nd place is $5, 3rd place is a bag of candy. Teachers will receive certificates and prizes.

Update:  Date Changed to Friday --Paid members of the Art Club will have a meeting October 31st in the art room during activity peiod.  Members need to see Mrs. Tate before then.

The National FFA Convention will be in Indianapolis week Oct 28-Nov 2.  Ethan Ralph, Bryon Poole, Shawnee Latimer, Olivia Woodard, Emma Gossett, Elise Gossett, Micha Harrell, Natalie Boyd, and Kalaya Cole.

THIS WEEK in SPORTS:   Jr Football will be at Home vs. Newport on Thursday night and Sr Football will play at Newport.

UPDATE: The Sr. Volleyball team defeated Waldron in the second round of the  3A State Volleyball Tournament in Paris, AR yesterday.  They are in the "Final 4" and will play Episcopal today at 1:00.  Please excuse the Sr high Volleyball team, Emma Langley, Maddy Wintizer, and Morgan Rahn.  

School picture make-up day will be Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019. Students who were absent on the first picture day need to have their pictures taken on make-up day even if they are not buying packages. If you purchased a package but would like to have your child’s picture retaken, there will be a $10.00 retake fee. You will also need to return the original package.  

Monday Night Football coming soon! Powderpuff Football will be on Monday night Nov. 4 at 6:00 at Parker Field. 

The Powderpuff Cheerleaders will have practice today after school until 4:45 in the Middle Gym.

 Update:  Date Change -ASVAB for all Juniors Wednesday November 6 in the Middle Gym.

There will be a Sr. High Pep Rally next Thursday, November 7 during activity period.

MEET THE MOHAWKS-  November 8th at 5:00 p.m. in the High School Gymnasium. There will be tailgating, showcase games, and Seniors vs Coaches.  Free Chili Dogs!

Deadline without late fees for the December 14 ACT test given at PHS is Friday, November 8.

MICROWAVES IN THE CAFETERIA - Students please wipe out the microwaves in the cafeteria after using.  This is not the cafeteria workers responsibility.  If you use the microwaves, please help us to be able to keep them by doing your part. Thank you.

The National School Plant Management Association (NSPMA) seeks to assist qualified students who are continuing their education by offering scholarships to those pursuing an Associates or Bachelor degree. Individual scholarships may range from $500 up to $1,500 depending on the candidate’s interest, evaluation results, and recommendation from the NSPMA Scholarship Committee. Click on link below for application packet for (NSPMA). NSPMA Scholarship 2020  

Seniors:  Williams Baptist University is offering a Williams Works program.  This is a work initiative starting next fall at Williams Baptist University that will cover the cost of education and give you the opportunity to graduate debt free.  The student needs to apply for admissions and the Williams Works program. The minimum ACT is a 19 and they must have their FAFSA complete by January.

The following seniors have not turned in baby pictures for the yearbook. You have until Monday, Nov. 4 to get them turned in to Mrs. Natalie.  Megan Burke, Jamara Ball, Lucas Chase, Austyn Crow, Destany Graves, Hayden Jackson, Amber Reed, Haley Shumate, Daniel Spinks, and Taylor Williamson.

Seniors:  If you are a child, grandchild, or great grandchild of an American Legionnaire.  Stepchildren of living Legionnaires may apply if their parent is currently married to the Legion member.  Children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren of deceased Legionnaires are also eligible.  See Mrs. Amber for an application.  Application and documents must be received by March 13, 2020.
