Senior ads being done by the yearbook staff are due by Friday, October 18. 

FBLA members who plan to attend Pro Sports Career Day with the Memphis Grizzlies MUST turn in their forms and money by this Friday, October 18! See Mrs. Peters for more information.

Please excuse Madison Monday to help me set up our booth at the NEA Fairgrounds. She may be back for the last two periods but it depends on how quick we can work. 

Teachers:  Please remember grades need to be in the computer by the end of the day on ***Thursday October 17th. You will load to gradebook on Progress Reports unless you teach Wheel classes.  Parent Teacher conference is on Tuesday October 22nd 3:30-7:00.

Congrats to Our FBLA table who won Most Creative table at the Chamber Banquet and to Mrs. Jerri Tate who was named Educator of the Year.

There will be a Drama club meeting on Friday during activity period in the Library.

The Mohawk Marching Band will be participating in a Competition in Paragould on Monday, Oct. 21.  Please excuse band members all day.

School picture make-up day will be Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019. Students who were absent on the first picture day need to have their pictures taken on make-up day even if they are not buying packages. If you purchased a package but would like to have your child’s picture retaken, there will be a $10.00 retake fee. You will also need to return the original package.  

Anyone interested in Jr/Sr High chess needs to meet in Ms. Penny Toombs’ room (across from the cafeteria) during activity period on Tuesday, October 29th.

It's not too late to join FBLA! Students have until October 31 to pay the $15 dues.

The following seniors have not turned in baby pictures for the yearbook. You have until Monday, Nov. 4 to get them turned in to Mrs. Natalie.  Megan Burke, Jamara Ball, Lucas Chase, Austyn Crow, Destany Graves, Hayden Jackson, Amber Reed, Haley Shumate, Daniel Spinks, and Taylor Williamson.

Seniors:  Williams Baptist University is offering a Williams Works program.  This is a work initiative starting next fall at Williams Baptist University that will cover the cost of education and give you the opportunity to graduate debt free.  The student needs to apply for admissions and the Williams Works program. The minimum ACT is a 19 and they must have their FAFSA complete by January.

Monday Night Football coming soon! Powderpuff Football will be on Monday night Nov. 4 at 6:30 at Parker Field.

Seniors:  SEMO is hosting  Show Me Days on Nov 2, Nov 22, Feb 17, and March 28.  You can register at semo.edu/showmeday

Seniors:  Sixt Rent A Car be awarding 5 students $5,000 towards their study at any 2 or 4 year course at an accredited university.  To learn more about the  scholarship please check out:  https://www.sixt.com/sixt-scholars/ Deadline is November 30, 2019

Seniors:  If you are a child, grandchild, or great grandchild of an American Legionnaire.  Stepchildren of living Legionnaires may apply if their parent is currently married to the Legion member.  Children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren of deceased Legionnaires are also eligible.  See Mrs. Amber for an application.  Application and documents must be received by March 13, 2020.

Seniors:  The Horatio Alger Scholarship is available online at scholars.horatioalger.org - deadline is October 25.  

Student Essay/Speaking Contest – Entry Deadline Oct. 23rdFor the second year, the Arkansas School Boards Association is holding a personal essay/speaking contest where 11th and 12th grade students will have an opportunity to present before an audience of more than 600 school board members and administrators during the ASBA Annual Conference, held December 11-13, 2018 at the Marriott Hotel and Statehouse Convention Center in downtown Little Rock. ESSAY/SPEECH TOPIC: Is TRUST our most valuable currency?  Why or why not? Click here for detailed contest instructions, incentives and rules. The contest deadline is Friday, October 23, 2019.
