Tonight is the Pink Out Volleyball game vs. Walnut Ridge. Please come out to the game and wear PINK to honor or in memory of someone who had or is fighting Breast Cancer.

The Art Club will be face painting Friday for homecoming during 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th.  The cost is $1 per side, $3 whole face.

FBLA members are attending Fall Conference TODAY (Thursday). List are attached to announcements email this morning. SR High Remove:  Michael Palmer, Holden Tarno, and ADD Corbin Chronister.  Middle Level Remove:  Addy Hickson, Desirree Linam, and Johnna Wilburn.

Teachers of 8th grade students:  Mrs. Veal has sent out an email of those students who need to come to her classroom to do make-up work during activity period.

Teachers:  Please remember grades need to be in the computer by the end of the day on Thursday October 17th. You will load to gradebook on Progress Reports unless you teach Wheel classes.  Parent Teacher conference is on Tuesday October 22nd 3:30-7:00.

Teachers:  Yearbook member Ryleigh Laden will be going around 4th hour all this week taking pictures for spirit week. 

There will be a pep rally at the elementary school Friday morning. Senior high cheerleaders, football players, volleyball players, band, and Chandler Smart will be meeting at the elementary school that morning. Please excuse them from 1st hour that day. High School Band to meet at the Safe Room at 7:45am for the Pep Rally at the Elementary School.

The following seniors have not turned in baby pictures for the yearbook. You have until Nov. 4 to get them turned in to Mrs. Natalie.  Megan Burke, Jamara Ball, Lucas Chase, Austyn Crow, Destany Graves, Hayden Jackson, Amber Reed, Haley Shumate, Daniel Spinks, and Taylor Williamson.

Seniors:  Williams Baptist University is offering a Williams Works program.  This is a work initiative starting next fall at Williams Baptist University that will cover the cost of education and give you the opportunity to graduate debt free.  The student needs to apply for admissions and the Williams Works program. The minimum ACT is a 19 and they must have their FAFSA complete by January.

Any Beta member who would like to run for an office needs to see Mrs. Flowers to pick up an application. Applications are due by Wednesday, October 16.

Any Beta member or invitee who has not already paid this year's dues needs to see Mrs. Flowers or Mrs. Coomer by Wednesday, October 16.

Homecoming Spirit Days will be as follows:

  • Thursday - Country vs. Country Club
  • Friday - Piggott vs. Walnut Ridge (Wear red and black and show your school spirit)

Monday Night Football coming soon! Powderpuff Football has been rescheduled for Monday night Nov. 4 at 6:30 at Parker Field. 

Any FBLA member interested in attending the Memphis Grizzlies' Pro Sports Career Day on November 6 should turn in forms and money no later than October 16.

Seniors:  If you are a child, grandchild, or great grandchild of an American Legionnaire.  Stepchildren of living Legionnaires may apply if their parent is currently married to the Legion member.  Children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren of deceased Legionnaires are also eligible.  See Mrs. Amber for an application.  Application and documents must be received by March 13, 2020.

Seniors:  The Horatio Alger Scholarship is available online at scholars.horatioalger.org - deadline is October 25.  

Student Essay/Speaking Contest – Entry Deadline Oct. 23rdFor the second year, the Arkansas School Boards Association is holding a personal essay/speaking contest where 11th and 12th grade students will have an opportunity to present before an audience of more than 600 school board members and administrators during the ASBA Annual Conference, held December 11-13, 2018 at the Marriott Hotel and Statehouse Convention Center in downtown Little Rock. ESSAY/SPEECH TOPIC: Is TRUST our most valuable currency?  Why or why not? Click here for detailed contest instructions, incentives and rules. The contest deadline is Friday, October 23, 2019.
